Overall Satisfaction with Namely

We use it as our HRIS, Benefits Broker, Performance Management tool and Payroll software. It is used across the entire org. The HR team are admins and every employee is a user. We make use of the social feed for recognition as well. It keeps all of our people initiatives in 1 place.
  • User friendly on the social feed, and PTO requests.
  • HRIS is intuitive.
  • The goal setting tool is not user friendly so we don't use it.
  • The performance management tool isn't very dynamic.
  • We had to move our entire goal setting OKR process out of Namely and build another tool because Namely's goal setting features don't cascade well and are not transparent enough for us.
  • On a positive note, we have always liked our benefits renewal experience. I have a high trust for that team and technology.
We selected Namely because it is both a payroll provider, performance management and HRIS. We were trying to go into 1 system. Before we had 3. It's nice being in 1 system but Namely isn't an expert in anything outside of HRIS when it compares to their competition. There are upsides to having different systems because focused companies usually have better products.
They moved to a queue system in the past 2 years and it's terrible. I loved the dedicated account management relationship. We had a strong relationship, the AM knew us and how our company works so she could solve problems faster. Now the dial-in queue is terrible. We will wait weeks for very urgent needs.

Do you think Namely delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Namely's feature set?

No

Did Namely live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Namely go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Namely again?

No

It's very well suited for really small companies. Once a company gets over 150 it doesn't scale. Payroll is very manual, customer service is abysmal. We really like our benefits consultant and have had really positive experiences with that part of Namely. Payroll is our least favorite but I think it's because we are too big for their target customer.
