Overall Satisfaction with Namely

The business problems Namely addressed are performance reviews, requesting time off, automating onboarding new hire paperwork, some helpful diversity stats, and creating an org chart.
  • New hire onboarding and paperwork
  • Performance reviews
  • Custom reports
  • Requesting time off
  • Adding job history
  • Converting from temp to FT

Do you think Namely delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Namely's feature set?

No

Did Namely live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Namely go as expected?

No

Would you buy Namely again?

No

  • It does not integrate with our payroll system. We need to manually submit time-off requests to payroll. This requires more labor on our part.
  • This has allowed for a much smoother new hire onboarding (particularly with paperwork), especially as we work remotely.
BambooHR has eNPS, which is pretty helpful and allows us to send pulse surveys to employees to get an understanding of how they are doing. Namely doesn't have anything like that.
I was not there from the beginning of the implementation, but it took a bit longer than anticipated to transfer and upload the data. I believe the upload was incorrect at first as well.
We use Namely for all HR functions except anything that involves payroll/benefits. It has been beneficial to housing all personal information with performance management, but we still cannot integrate without a payroll system.
I have not been able to automate anything. You must manually go into the system to trigger anything, whether it's new hire onboarding and paperwork or performance reviews. Nothing can be scheduled in advance yet, which I wish weren't the case.
It's pretty easy to use unless you really need to personalize something. There are not many customization options.
Namely is well suited for new hire onboarding and performance reviews in particular. It's a great one-stop hub for important, general info about a hire (job title, start date, etc.) We do not use it for payroll or benefits, so I cannot speak on that.

Namely Support

The Help community overall is pretty helpful and gives a goos step by step on easy fixes. For more specific issues however, sometimes Namely can take a while to respond.
ProsCons
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
Kept well informed
Support cares about my success
Slow Resolution
Escalation required
Need to explain problems multiple times
Slow Initial Response
We recently changed the way our sick time works (went from an accrual basis to frontload the amount). When I reached out to Namely to help me, they walked me through creating the new time off plan and did a mass reset from their end to add everyone to it and change their time accordingly. It was smooth.
I don't really feel as though I've provided feedback to Namely, so cannot answer this.
The onboarding solution has been especially useful in cutting back on printing things, but also as we have transitioned to a more remote-first workplace. Signing new hire documents electronically expedites the process. Custom reporting allows us to find more granular information about people easily.
