Overall Satisfaction with NetSuite ERP

At Macquarie AirFinance (MAF) we use GL, AP, Fixed Assets. We implemented NetSuite ERP because we were required to leave our legacy system, Peoplesoft.
  • The flexibility of adding data fields has allowed us to capture additional specific information that helps us when analyzing transactions and preparing financial statements.
  • The scripts that can be created within NetSuite ERP allows us to process AP vendor bill transactions with minimal manual intervention, and auto generates the required intercompany JEs for us.
  • The Suite answer area and community forums have been helpful when I need to reach out for assistance and troubleshooting, before reaching out to NetSuite ERP support.
  • I believe the reporting feature within NetSuite ERP is not as robust as we would have liked. In my opinion, it would be ideal to have canned reports that provide the level of detail needed, without having to put as much effort into developing custom reports.
  • We are looking to expand in the use of some areas, specifically AP and PO modules. We started a conversation with NetSuite ERP and received a demo. I've found It is not easily identifiable which features are part of the standard package versus their premium package. I know we will get a quote but I believe is nice to understand during the demo part which features are standard versus a premium.
  • Our teams are able to see the results of transactions posted immediately, and not have to wait on scheduled tasks to run to post the results, as with our legacy system Peoplesoft. This has been a major positive impact.
  • We have not had time to focus on building reports within NetSuite ERP or via the reporting system Adaptive Insights, as a result, in my experience, we have not been able to get financial data out of NetSuite ERP in a format that we would like without having to manipulate the data & format.
  • The support team has been very helpful when we need to reach out for assistance. That has been a time saver, not having to wait days or weeks for someone to address our issues.
The user interface of NetSuite ERP is more intuitive and the data captured in the transactions is more detailed. There appears to be more features in NetSuite ERP and flexibility in what can be done, ie Saved Searches, versus the other system.

Did implementation of NetSuite ERP go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy NetSuite ERP again?

Yes

NetSuite ERP is a good system for financial accounting purposes and subsystems. There are always improvements that can be factored and considered but overall it does we need it to do.
I appreciate being able to access a live person/people when I contact support. It is always much easier to talk through issues and/or share screens to walk through the issues. They are very responsive, and if they have to take the issues offline, they are good about getting back to me.
Given the size of our company and the responsibilities of our teams and individuals, NetSuite ERP is a good size ERP system for us. It provides us with the level of detail/information that we want to incorporate, and I like how it interfaces with other systems and how easily the data can be extracted out of NetSuite ERP. I would like to see more standard canned reports without having to create saved searches.
