Good platform for small businesses
Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We selected Paylocity over other HRIS platforms in April 2021 due to the ease of use, cost and many products it had to offer. We were previously using UKG but had to select a new platform due to them not supporting a company our size after our a company split.
I found it odd that training would started during our 1st payroll process. With UKG (then Ultimate Software), our training and implementation lasted months. Overall the system is good but has limitations. When you go from a platform like UKG, you have high expectation for a new platform. Over the past year, we've had issues with 401k goals, PTO, check processing, reporting, etc. One thing I find concerning is, when a customer service person tells you, they will call you back w/ further info on the situation, you expect a call back. Majority of the time, this does not happen. Furthermore, rather than walk me thru a process, they prefer to direct to the Knowledge Base link. I have used ADP & UKG, both great HRIS but Paylocity has its limitations and as easy to use for HR professionals. The 2 highlights I have to say is their Expense module and mobile app. Expense module is very easy to use & great interface w/ corporate cards such as Amex. Their mobile app is great for employees for submitting PTO, Expenses and viewing their pay statements.

Pros
- Expense modules works great
- Mobile app is very user friendly for employees
- Uploading Docs is a breeze
- PR reports are available right away
Cons
- Better reporting. Especially ability to custom create reports and export to Excel.
- Better user experience for HR professionals/perhaps training PRIOR to implementation instead during the 1st PR run
- Ability to export ALL expense receipts from the system at once instead of one by one
- Better communication and follow from customer service
- Reduced cost
- Better Expense Mgmt & ease of interface w/ corporate card
- Ease of PTO requests via mobile app
We utilized UKG prior to Paylocity. With the exception of the Paylocity Expense module & mobile app, I have to say, UKG was a better platform.
