Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We are currently using them for our payroll management and expanding into utilizing the HR features more. It helps us by not only providing excellent reports but maintaining all of our personnel and training records in one place. One other feature we have started using is logging training and performance reviews which will allow us to better track both items.
- Payroll
- Customer Service
- Managing records from training to performance reviews
- Some customer service topics, such as security roles. It is very difficult to get a clear and detailed explanation.
- Since I'm starting to input training which our employees have completed over the decades I found there isn't a way to add these as a batch to the portal.
- The ability for administrators to have an employee view that can be toggled between. As the administrator I can't see what my employees see, especially in the self service portal. As a result I end up using other employees as my testers to make sure they can see whatever I tried to add.
- The inability to have a general document library. I uploaded health insurance and retirement files into the document library. I thought since I wasn't assigning them to a specific employee that all employees would be able to see the documents. It turns out that only employees with a certain security role can see the documents.
- In regard to hiding bonus checks, it is frustrating that I have to call in to Customer Service to have the bonus checks hidden. This has to be perfectly timed so employees can see their paychecks which bookend the bonus check being issued. I also have to call in a second time after the bonus check has been issued to have the feature turned back on.
- It is frustrating that when pulling up an article in the knowledge bases only to find that it says you have to call customer service to make the change.
- The ability to have reports compiled for various audits and having the totals needed at my fingertips instead of having to modify data in Excel.
- Utilizing the PTO information in the portal, this allows for less frustration between the employees and Payroll regarding any discrepancies.
- One item that takes away time is the fact that I can't approve time off requests because I'm not a supervisor, even though my security level is a company administrator. I don't even receive an email notification that an employee submitted the request. As a result, I am tracking down employees regarding missed work and they have already submitted a request which I can't even see in the portal either.
At this time we have not started utilizing the automation processes. One of my goals is to get the time clock module added to our portal, I feel like this would be an added benefit to my current process as I am currently utilizing three different systems across the time keeping and payroll process.
I just learned we have access to surveys which will greatly improve our employee engagement and satisfaction. Unfortunately we are not utilizing the Community feature, we are thinking of creating a Facebook group, this is only because we would like to start adding company events and this is not a function in the Community feature.
