Overall Satisfaction with Quick Base

We use QB in many of our departments. In our department specifically, I have designed a few applications that help us with our Rehab projects, managing budgets, document library. We also use it as a database for all of our properties. I am currently developing an application to help with New Student Housing Development projects. I am sure other departments use it for other things, but I am not personally involved in the development of those applications.
  • It is very user friendly.
  • Having the ability to download applications that already have code built in to help create your own processes in an invaluable asset.
  • Quickbase has great training also with Kirk Trachy, love his classes! He is a QB genius!
  • Love that you are able to design any reports and manipulate the data in many ways.
  • I would like to see the ability to have a percentage on the total row.
  • I would like to see more ways to customize the overall look.
  • Also would like more traveling training, there was one class in Houston that I signed up for but had a scheduling conflict.
  • I would also like to have QB Book that explains things to beginners as well as Intermediate level users
  • I would like to have an easier way to create buttons.
  • Would be nice to have a chat feature with support to ask quick QB questions.
We have absolutely been able to do that. We had a multimillion dollar 65 property renovation project in 2016 that would have been nearly impossible to manage effectively without the Custom QB applications we designed specifically for this project.
When I started I knew nothing about it and I was able to customize apps from the beginning. There were some areas that I didn't quite understand like the relationships and such but was able to learn thru webinars. When you become a bit more familiar and want the application to do some more complex things it does help to know some javascript. I have put in many hours learning from scratch but well worth the effort. I love QB
  • Building and deploying business applications faster
  • Improving our ability to drive insights from our data
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
We have achieved most of these outcomes. In our specific situation for our department collaboration across teams is still something I am working on. Mainly because I need more training in more complex things and managing users/groups and roles/rights.
As far as downloading an application and modifying it, sometimes that is a challenge only because I don't understand what I might break if I remove certain fields or tables, sometimes I modify the use of a table and it does not quite do what I want it to do so I start from scratch instead.

It is well suited for many areas in our Company. It is well suited as a database, also to track expenses and processes in the Property Renovation workflow.

I would like to see it be a little more user friendly on the mobile version, like when I build an application where a property needs to walk the property I would like the ability for them to walk without internet, enter the information and have it sync back with QB when they come back in the office, we are currently using Canvas for inspections on the MultiFamily side of our company for this reason.
