Overall Satisfaction with Rippling

As a small and growing company trying to navigate all the complexity of hiring and managing multi-state employees, the job felt overwhelming to start.
Rippling has removed a lot of the stress of wondering if we have completed the necessary steps. The prompts and information given in each step are extremely helpful for a novice HR person setting up entities and withholding in various states.
For the most part they have done everything required on time, in the instances where there were some late reporting by Rippling we got a quick answers to our questions about notices received from the state. They let us know there were timing issues with filing and quickly let us know what to do and that they would cover any costs/fees incurred.
We also received good feed back from our accountant about the program and that felt like a win that I had chosen a good product.

  • Prompts about where to find information or where to call regarding state specific taxes.
  • Quick response to inquiries and cases.
  • Lots of reminder emails to multiple people so we don't miss stuff.
  • Some of the features talked about when selling are more costly than anticipated.
  • Navigating the site can feel unintuitive.
  • Linking 3rd party accounts feels cumbersome so I avoid doing it, even though it probably would make the platform more useful.
  • In the first year it feels like a high price, but it also has relieved stress.
  • We have been able to convert 30% of our contractors that are eligible and will convert the rest next year. This is after less than a year of using the system.
The follow-up and customer service during the sales process was excellent. We selected Rippling because it integrated well with many of our other platforms and felt easy to navigate. We liked that we could select the specific add-ons we needed for certain employees and not for others. This helps with the high cost of HR Management platforms.
Quick response from the chat and quick follow up from the technical support if the issue needs to be elevated. There were a couple of late paid filings and gave me anxiety. We were told the accounting dept would get back to us in 2 weeks, but the response was much quicker. Once they responded I felt that they had handled it and we were in the clear.

Easy to navigate once you use it for a while, but there are a couple things that I had to continually remind myself where they were. It may be that I don't understand the lingo for certain things therefore I did not know what tabs to look under.
Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), Insightly, QuickBooks Online
For a growing business where you need lots of prompts and help to guide you, Rippling is ideal. If I had an HR department and bookkeeper on staff, then it would be more than needed.
