Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
We have recently switched to use Sage Intacct as our primary accounting software. We use it within our Finance Department for general ledger, accounts payable, reporting, budgeting, and fixed asset management. We also use the dashboard functionality with budget owners across our whole organization. For us, Sage Intacct provided us with an accounting software that integrated much more seamlessly with other platforms we use and provided much more robust reporting.
- Basic accounting functionality.
- Integration with other platforms.
- Reporting.
- Steep learning curve for reporting (because it is SO capable).
- Some quirks in integrations.
- PO functionality didn't serve us (but that might be more a reflection on how we're structured, not the software).
- Although we're still learning, it has improved reporting for our organization.
- Time-neutral on Accounts Payable (about the same time we were spending on it).
- Improved integration with credit card program, saving employee's time.
We have partly benefited from the automation of core financial processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, and fixed asset management. We do not utilize accounts receivable or order management, so our perspective is somewhat limited. However, for the aspects that we do use, we are pleased with how they integrate and make core processes simpler and more streamlined.
We do not presently use most of these advanced modules.

Prior to Sage Intacct, we used MIP Fund Accounting. MIP Fund Accounting was a solid, basic general ledger and accounting software. For our organization, however, it felt dated and limited in its capability - specifically integration with other platforms and reporting capability. Since switching to Sage Intacct, we have been able to have more seamless integrations with the other platforms our organization uses and are beginning to increase the reporting capability and visibility for users outside our department.
