Overall Satisfaction with Skype for Business (formerly Lync)

We use Skype for Business to solve the problem of communication with companies that haven't migrated to Teams yet. It helps us to chat with them, without hav[ing] to install a new chat application or change the way they use the application. It's being used by almost our entire organization.
  • Add Groups to Main Screen
  • Block Users
  • Block Groups
  • New features
  • Communication with other tools
  • Old interface
  • Reduced telephony usage
  • Speed up contact
  • Kept users focused
The three are great tools, but each one have its set of benefits. Lync it's getting out of market, but certainly it still has a great market to those companies that are not worried with external communication, for example. Teams and Slack, have already this approach, but both still lack some basic features, like blocking users in Teams in the same way Skype for Business does...

Would you buy Skype for Business, now part of Microsoft Teams again?

Yes

If you use it for internal communication, or companies that still use it, it's still a very nice tool, better than a lot of others. It's quick and has the basic features that we need.
But, if you're trying to communicate with external world, there [are] other options like Teams or Slack, that'll do the job better than Skype for Business.
