Team Viewer is a life saver and your IT department will love you
Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
We use TeamViewer for troubleshooting customer's and agent's internet connection and network issues. We also use it for screen sharing and to gain remote control access to other computers. It is perfect for me as a developer to fix an issue at another site remotely.
Pros
- Have you ever spent hours trying to get someone to do something that would only take 5 minutes if you did it yourself? Well, TeamViewer is a life saver for that. You can remotely log in and do it yourself. It will save you a lot of time.
- Secure, but yet effective, and easy to use.
- The user can easily see what you are doing. They can easily tell when you are connected or disconnected since the background changes.
- Simple installation and easy key and password sharing.
Cons
- Requires a good internet connection.
- You can do phone calls, but it is a little further behind in that feature when compared to Skype, for example.
- Not a light software. It requires more resources when compared to Zoom, for example.
- Saves time, a lot of time. You can have your IT personnel running around all day, or you can try to train agents and teach them how to troubleshoot issues, but that will be time-consuming. One IT person can handle so much over TeamViewer.
- Save money by not having to travel from one site to another.
- Makes your IT personnel happy.
- UserZoom and Skype for Business (formerly Lync)
Skype for Business is perfect for calls and chat, but TeamViewer is better for remote control access. Zoom is great for conference calls, especially if you have less internet bandwidth or a less powerful computer. Zoom is light weight compare to TeamViewer but doesn't have as many useful features.
