Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

We use TriNet for Payroll and Benefits. We do not used them for retirement plans
  • Selection of Medical Plans
  • Pricing of Medical Plans
  • Offering Medical and Child Care management accounts
  • The biggest confusion is deductible year vs plan year if they are not alligned as of January 1
  • It's great to have Payroll and benefits administered by one Company with a dedicated service team
It's great to have robust web site and app and help bot.
Overall I am satisfied with the support except for when our company was on-boarded on 11/01 we WERE NOT Informed that our re-enrollment will always be as of Oct. 1 we were also NOT INFORMED that benefit year and deductible year for medical insurance will be not aligned.
We joined Trinet after COVID
We stayed with TriNet; ADP only offers 2 health insuarnce plans and enrollment mid year as of 06.01

Using TriNet

7 - All employees, Partner and Financial Controller are account administrators
  • Payroll Reporting
  • Benefits Management
  • Employee Management
  • HSA and Childcare accounts

Evaluating TriNet and Competitors

Yes - ADP and privately underwritten insurance
  • Other
Medical Benefits pricing
We would go with the same process BUT only enrolled as of 01/01 and not in the middle of the year to allign deductible and benefit years.

TriNet Implementation

Implementation went smooth again... we were not warned that by signing on Nov 1 our re-enrollment be Oct 1 every year.
THIS WAS A HUGE MISTAKE.... We are still solving it.
Change management was a minor issue with the implementation
  • Selecting new medical plans
  • Not enough discussion of re-enrollment next year

TriNet Training

  • In-Person Training
We were properly trained after integration

Configuring TriNet

Great product especially for small business
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
No - we have not done any custom code

TriNet Support

ProsCons
Problems get solved
Immediate help available
Support cares about my success
Poor followup
Not kept informed
Escalation required
Need to explain problems multiple times
Slow Initial Response
We did not purchase premium support. We have dedicated team for a day to day support and it works great. The bot is also very helpful.

BUT we stumbled hard with the issue of aligning benefit year and deductible year and we are still solving it 6 months into it.
Yesterday I had payroll and termination issue and it was answered in 10 min

Relationship with TriNet
