Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers

I was working for a mid-sized company that needed a project planning and resourcing tool to bring together teams that are located across the country in different offices. In researching for project management type support software you quickly realize that there are many in this sector that say they provide the all requirements you need. What I found was that there are many great products out there but few addressed our organization's needs in particular. The executive ownership was also involved in a final approval capacity, and senior leaders in other departments took part in the testing period of the selected software before a purchase was made.
  • To understand my options (i.e. build my short list or long list)
  • To compare products
  • To confirm my decision
  • To find evidence to support my recommendation to colleagues or my client
  • To see what other users think of the product I am currently using
Many factors on TrustRadius assisted me in this process. Ultimately the overall rating was a key data point, as well as individual reviews from relevant industry users. Being able to find people in my industry who had recently (within the last 6-12 months) used the product and provided feedback was extremely valuable to me during this exercise. Also being able to compare side by side to other competitive software solutions was extremely valuable.
Reviews from similar or relevant industry peers is, for me, the most valuable type of review. I'm not too concerned what someone working in construction thinks of a tool that I'm going to use for my team's creative environment. I look for detailed and practical reviews, ones that aren't praising too much or ones that are being overly negative.
Having reviews from other relevant industry peers not only provided me with a level of comfort in continuing to investigate a particular solution, it also assisted in providing proof points to those key stakeholders that I needed to get by in from.
  • The number of reviewers that have participated is extremely valuable
  • The number of reviews that have occurred in a relevant time period, 6-12 months
  • The comparison tool allowing you to compare several competing software solutions against one another.
  • I have recently found some odd bugs on the site where I'll click on something and it will shoot me off to another unexpected part of the site.
  • An increase in brand awareness I think would assist in providing further legitimacy of this great service
  • Opening up to some more niche type products may also allow for further legitimacy
I used other compare sites as part of my evaluation period, and found their offering to be sub par to TrustRadius in general. They didn't have the industry relevant peer reviews that I was needing and the reviews were generally out dated and weren't based on the current solution release version.
As I had mentioned previously, I had used other compare sites as part of my evaluation period, and found their offering to be sub par to TrustRadius in general. They didn't have the industry relevant peer reviews that I was needing and the reviews were generally out dated and weren't based on the current solution release version.
Perhaps having more partnerships with all of the reviewed vendors on the site, having them address any of the negative comments that appear. True engagement with all of the tools, not just one or two participating vendors as that would start to give the impression that they are a paid supporter of the site and then you would ultimately lose legitimacy and the perceived impartial view you have now.
I have found the TrustRadius experience to be easy to use, and I have always found the main software solutions that I am currently researching. The only reason I wouldn't have given TrustRadius a full ten is I always believe there is room for improvement. I would definitely recommend the service to a colleague.
