Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro
Our company utilizes UltiPro for all HRIS needs: Recruiting, Onboarding, HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time Management, and Performance Management. It is used across the organization for 900 employees. For us, the move to UltiPro presented an opportunity for a fully integrated HRIS that could manage employee data internally throughout the employee life cycle, and also integrate with external systems as needed.
- Customizable to suit the organization's unique needs.
- Very user-friendly for front-end users and back-end administrators.
- Powerful reporting capabilities.
- The existing Time Management module has many weaknesses, but these are all being addressed in a new version to be released soon.
- Service requests can occasionally take a long time to receive attention and be completed, depending on time of year.
- Costs savings
- Time savings
- Consolidating HR administration under a single solution
- Security and peace of mind
All outcomes have been achieved for us. It's a good cost model for mid-market clients. Much time has been saved through automation of manual processes. All data is in one place and flows from piece to piece seamlessly. And we haven't had any security issues.
To me, UltiPro is the most user-friendly of what I've used. We've also had a greater level of customer service and appreciation from Ultimate Software versus others.

UltiPro Training
The system is intuitive in a lot of ways, particularly for the end-user. But on the administration side, training is critical to get a good understanding of how the system thinks and what options you have available for setup and customization.
- Online training
- Self-taught

- Might consider Perceptions as an engagement survey tool
Evaluating UltiPro and Competitors
Yes - Ceridian (HR/Payroll/Time/Recruiting) and Success Factors (Performance Management). We were not happy with Ceridian's service model and the system was outdated and overpriced to update. Additionally, there was not adequate integration and we relied on many manual processes.

For us at the time, it was finding an innovative and robust fully-integrated system with a good pricing model for our organization.
Probably wouldn't change anything.
UltiPro Support
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Quick Resolution Good followup Knowledgeable team Problems get solved Kept well informed Immediate help available Support cares about my success Quick Initial Response | None |
No - We are on a tight budget, so we have not explored additional support that would cost extra.
After the first two years or so, our ERM did arrange for some SMEs to come in to meet with us and talk through what was/wasn't working. They were able to offer real-time solutions for some things and follow up with others.
