Overall Satisfaction with Webexpenses

Used across [the] entire organization for individual expenses reporting and processing. As an employee with significant fieldwork, I interface with Webexpenses on at least a weekly basis for recording and submitting my expenses claims, together with associated invoices/receipts.
  • Text recognition from receipt images to pre-populate claim items.
  • Mileage calculator from point A to point B for business driving.
  • Inability to use receipt images more than once (as required per company procedures).
  • Clumsy mileage tracking interface - selecting actual route taken by mouse is [inaccurate].
  • Interface is glitchy and times out/logs out too frequently.
  • Select and confirm buttons on the iOS app are confusing, and often lead to duplicate effort inputting or amending expenses/adding receipts, etc.
  • Negative impact on the time required to complete expenses claims vs. competitor apps e.g. SAP Concur.
Glitchy, not intuitive - particularly the iOS app has several usability issues caused by bugs/poorly thought out UI design which magnifies work effort required for simple expense tasks like inputting of claim items when instead it could save the end user time.
Webexpenses does not generally help me save time - at least compared to other paperless expenses applications previously used in other roles, e.g. SAP Concur. Of course, being paperless is far superior to more traditional offline alternatives!
I find Concur not perfect, but generally easier to navigate and use than Webexpenses from an end user perspective. Work effort was less likely to be lost in Concur vs. Webexpenses due to application bugs/crashes, and so on.

Do you think Webexpenses delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Webexpenses's feature set?

No

Did Webexpenses live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Webexpenses go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Webexpenses again?

No

The iOS app is not intuitive to use for general expenses management. Add/confirm buttons are confusing and the same receipt cannot be added to multiple claim items e.g. as required by corporate policy. The potential convenience of documenting expenses "on the fly" is short-changed because of these slightly irritating interface issues. This often leads to duplication of effort as I frequently have to manually amend claim items on the desktop web browser version of the software following initial inputting.

Using Webexpenses

200 - All functions - Sales, Marketing, R&D, Leadership, QA, etc.
1 - Finance administrator responsible for the processing of aggregate employee expenses claims e.g. on a monthly basis.
  • Employee expense reporting.
  • Receipt and VAT tracking.
  • Mileage claims for field staff.
  • Not anticipated with current usability constraints.

Using Webexpenses

ProsCons
Technical support not required
Familiar
Do not like to use
Unnecessarily complex
Difficult to use
Not well integrated
Inconsistent
Cumbersome
  • Capturing of expense receipts.
  • Entering mileage claims by journey.
  • Selecting full receipts on the iOS app (which unnecessarily seems to crop images).
Yes - The mobile interface is inferior to the desktop web browser applet, the iOS interface is glitchy with some awkward page/tab navigation controls. This often means that work effort is lost because - for example - data inputted are not saved when expected, meaning further time is required to re-enter information.
