There's always room for improvement. Also, with the HUD APR and ESG CAPER report, since these are required reports for funded agencies, and Apricot is a comparable database, agencies using Apricot should not be required to pay for the feature/updates of these.

TeamRaiser
I can only speak from a DIY fundraising perspective, but TeamRaiser is definitely a beast. It has a lot of capability, but if you are short on time, money, and expertise, it may be overwhelming and/or not a right fit for a campaign. It's important to have an initial design team to build a campaign and to make a check-list for each campaign set up, as one wrong setting can break the entire thing. But, it is also a powerful tool that can be used to raise a lot of money with the right marketing plan behind it.

Pros
- The support staff does an incredible job when things get off track. Their ability to problem solve, backtrack and fix errors was exceptional when I needed assistance with a problem. One particular complex instance required going back several days into history, making changes and recreating subsequent changes was met with patience, thoughtful consideration and follow through.
- Social Solutions provides users with many easily available forms of self help for both users and program administrators as well as formal training options.
- I have found that Social Solutions listens to their clients. They provide forums where users can ask questions to their staff and share issues with other companies using their software. Many times answers are shared among users and problems are solved
- The staff is well informed and knowledgeable about the system and have always worked well with me when I have an issue. They have also collaborated among themselves on more complex issues.

- Has a big support community.

Cons
- I would like to see us be able to search using several different options, sometimes the searches don't reveal the exact info we need or reveal too much and then I sort out the files that aren't necessary for my needs.

- Has a difficult learning curve to make campaigns customizable.
- Does not offer any drag and drop interfaces.
- A lot of details and settings that can be confusing.
- No automatic recognition for returning participants.
- When copying from a previous campaign, everything is a manual update.

While everydayheroPro and CrowdRise are easy to set up, already mobile friendly, have great interfaces, and are customizable, they lack some base capabilities that come with TeamRaiser, such as the ability to control the donation form, email capability, database syncing, badges/milestones, and custom pages. The everydayheroPro system has great potential, and we use it for our smaller DIY campaigns, but its support knowledge bank and customization is still so limited and can be frustrating to use because of it.

Return on Investment
- Apricot has opened up an opportunity for our organization to share our files throughout our agency with ease. I feel its a costly investment, but for the ease of access to our files & the capability of storing these files is worth the investment.

- Introduced our constituents to DIY fundraising.
- Provided another revenue stream that provides nearly $100,000 extra a year.
- Gets our constituents involved in the cause in another way.
- We've found a niche by using TeamRaiser in companies.
- Has provided more donor interaction for lower-tier giving groups that might otherwise receive little communication and stewardship from us.
- Seen returning participants raise more money year-after-year.
