CenterPoint Payroll has been excellent for our company, with approximately 150 employees. I can certainly see it being excellent for smaller companies and larger companies. I don't know if there is a size of company at which it would become difficult or limiting to use - I can't foresee any of the functions or features becoming limiting factors as company size increases. To a certain extent, I could see the robustness of CenterPoint being a bit more than what is necessary for a tiny company of less than 5 employees, but it would certainly be able to do what is required for them.

Paylocity is a great stepping stone from a more manual payroll and tax process. Once implemented and administration is trained, the process is more efficient and probably cut four hours off of my payroll processing time. The Performance module automated our review process as well. Now, everyone can easily look up their past reviews right in their Paylocity account. If employees need something, they can usually just find it right in their account, opposed to contacting HR and and HR finding it for them. Paylocity does have a slower response time for certain things and when I ask that the problem be escalated, I never know who it is going to and status updates are few and far between. For example, I needed to report a cash bonus for a few employees. One person told me to do it one way, which was incorrect, and then the other person had to back that out and do it another way. This took over a month to unravel and in the end I had to manually adjust the GL.

- It has a very cool and easy to use recognition function called impressions. Instead of a simple instant message or email saying thank you, you can offer an impression saying thanks that can be categorized and made public the rest of the company when they access Paylocity. It's just a cool function that spreads thanks and engagement across the organization with little cost and effort.
- The self service portal for employees is easy to use as well. If you need to access vacation accrual and balances, PTO requests, pay check stubs, pay information, need to change your address or name, etc. it's very easy to find and navigate. You don't need to dig or click everywhere.
- The journal entry function is useful too for 1:1 meetings or check in meetings for manages and their direct reports. It gives an easy module to record notes, discuss topics, attach documents, or make notes of items that need to be followed up on. Not everyone here uses it, but it does help organize meetings and keep them on track.

- The customer service is a joke. Our account manager is slow to respond and often gives wrong or incomplete answers.
- The tax department is incredibly slow and disorganized, which has resulted in late penalties and errors on our filings.
- You cannot contact any department without going through your account manager, which if you have a bad one like we do, means you often get roadblocked in getting your issues resolved.
- There is no sense of urgency or accountability in customer service.
- You are expected to largely self-serve. Often when you reach out for help, the customer care rep doesn't know any more about the system than you do.

CenterPoint support is excellent! While I have not had to use them frequently, as the program is consistently stable and has few, if any, bugs, the times I have had to reach out to tech support, they have been excellent and have solved our issues quickly. They listen to our explanation of the problems, can dial into our system to see exactly what we're seeing in real time, and have always been able to quickly determine the issue, work out a solution, and help us through the process until we've got everything back in line. They are friendly, courteous, professional, kind and very knowledgeable of their products. This is absolutely one of the best things about CenterPoint - even though we seldom need it, when we do, they are always quick to get us through the issue.

Support for basic questions is great. If I run into something while doing a payroll, first level support is quick and always has the answer.Anything beyond that is non existent. We have not been able to speak with our dedicated account rep for months. We leave messages or are promised that he will call us right back, but he never does. We have some serious tax issues right now and I cannot even get to a supervisor or tax professional and this is truly something beyond first level support capabilities.During our initial setup we provided them with spreadsheets so they could import our employee info. They did that and everything was reviewed and yet later we found employees with info that had just been changed (like social security numbers) and some employees had to amend income tax returns. We have had tax deposits filed late and received penalties. They got them waived but we had to use our "one time exemption" for something they caused.

We selected CenterPoint Payroll because of our dissatisfaction with ADP (and Paychex prior). We wanted a solution that we controlled internally, instead of having to be at the mercy of some huge company that saw us as a tiny fish in a big ocean. We set our company's configuration, add/define all of our own specific settings, profiles, etc. and simply process payroll. We print and sign our own checks, process our own direct deposits directly with our bank, and can handle our own business needs. When we were with ADP and Paychex before, both companies made promises to us that they simply were either unwilling or unable to fulfill. We have saved both time and money by doing our payrolls ourselves with CenterPoint.

ADP software is old, outdated and extremely problematic (glitches, crashes, freezes). The biggest issue we had with ADP was the wasted time trying to fix these issues (3-4 a week). We would spend hours on phone, writing emails, following up for things that should just WORK. Paylocity doesn't not have these issues so we can use the software for what its for and move on with more important tasks. This is a huge value to process since our turnover is high in out industry.

- CenterPoint Payroll has saved us tens of thousands of dollars from our prior arrangement with ADP, while providing either similar or superior support.
- Having payroll completely in our control has simplified a LOT of our daily routines - if something needs to be updated or adjusted, we do it ourselves instead of contacting someone at ADP and hoping that they can do it for us, then getting frustrated when they haven't.
