Cisco Business Edition 6000 is much more than just IP telephony, it is a complete collaboration solution that I recommend for scenarios with up to 1000 users and up to 2500 registered devices. Everything is virtualized on the UCS server. The BR 6000 meets any type of demand and is easy to install and configure on the network. We started to reduce the costs of communications infrastructure and maintenance expenses. The main features we use are IP telephony, video conferencing, and messaging. Licenses were purchased on demand according to the growth and expansion of personnel and devices.

Webex App

Cisco Webex is part of the larger cisco suite of products, I think it's a natural move for organizations who use cisco products to also leverage Webex teams. The functionality is very similar to Microsoft Teams and better than Skype. I find the quality of calls to be very high and experience very little issues other than 'off-days' like Zoom experiences where there are lags and minor issues. I like the 'all in one' experience with Cisco Webex teams vs. Cisco Webex meetings. I can use instant message, make phone calls directly and my status updates automatically as the platform is integrated with my outlook calendar. It may be less appropriate for smaller organizations where they can leverage cheaper or even free instant messaging options (such as Google Hangouts), I also truly believe for smaller orgs where everyone is in the office a collaboration tool like this may not be necessary at all

  • The actual chat threads could be aesthetically enhanced and more fun.
  • The voicemail feature notification does not go away unless you listen to every last second.

I have a pretty good experience with the Cisco support. But we hat several numbers of Cisco TAC cases that were extreme difficult to manage. But at the end we found always a solution to implement. The knowledge and experience for this solution is existing and Cisco is working hard on this.

Lots and lots of online information for you to utilise from small bite-size user guide videos, to more detailed documentation explaining how Secure Webex is. This is typical from Cisco though, and you expect them to provide you with the support tools you need to make the tool easy to use and manage. I also like the fact that frequently they provide various user communities and update webinars to give you updates on what is coming feature-wise, and how things can be delivered as part of the entire Webex family.

The only competitor that we have compared the Cisco Business Edition 6000 (BE6000) against has been Avaya, and that was only because it was during an acquisition. We are a Cisco shop and already have the management and expertise in Cisco, so it technically does not make sense for us to look at other options.

Before Webex, we use Microsoft teams. We had some issues in the past with the connection and having the people not connecting effectively to the meetings Also there was a problem with the integration on authentication. With Webex we haven't had major issues with connectivity and teamwork. We now can say that there are no noticeable issues.

  • Dedicated support was added to answer Webex and other video conferencing tickets.
  • Remote classes became more feasible without requiring students to meet at specific locations. This has increased enrollment in hybrid and distance type classes.
  • Personnel now have a common conference software to hold meetings on that they have become familiar with. Individual departments are becoming less fractured.
