I would recommend Daptiv for anyone who is look for a collaborative tool that is easy to use and provides excellent results for project management and resource allocation. The tool offers many various capabilities and is not isolated for use with one or two workgroups. Its versatility allows many workgroups across many different organizations to use it. In my previous role, I used Daptiv in both a Project Management and Account Services Information Technology role. In my current workplace, I would like to leverage Daptiv for Product Launch and tracking as well as change request visibility in the Release Management Organization of a pharmaceutical company. Both roles and companies are vastly different however Daptiv would serve a great purpose in both situations although my needs are different.

Wrike
is undoubtedly a great platform having all the sufficient needs, but it has a
very tight budget. Still, I would recommend it to businesses because of the
powerful and solid features the platform possesses. Wrike
is a quite useful platform even though it is a little expensive. Still, if you
manage all your finances in an adequate way then this can help you in a lot of
tasks and prove to be quite fruitful in the long run.

  • Resource allocation, when fully integrated provides a in depth view of what everyone is working on, as well as their availability.
  • Portfolio reporting provides a good view of where all projects are at in their lifecycle.
  • Time tracking is simple to use.

Wrike

  • Wrike is very flexible and versatile. I have used many project management systems, and some have rigid requirements - such as needing a completion date. Wrike is customizable, so you can create the setup that works best for you. You can create custom workflows, request forms, folders, etc. - and the changes could be for your whole account, or just for a specific team/folder.
  • Wrike allows for many ways to view projects. It has kanban boards, gantt charts, calendars, lists, tables, reports, analytics, time logs, activity streams, etc. Most other tools I have used have some of these. But, everyone has their own view that they prefer to work from. In Wrike, all the projects and tasks can be managed from almost any view. In my experience, this increased adoption and efficiency as team members were comfortable using the view.
  • In Wrike, you can save filters, which makes managing projects much faster and easier.

  • The Daptiv UI has seen some significant improvements recently that were long in coming. However I am still waiting for more that are on their plan. Lack of ability to customize what appears on specific screens or to add hover over help for less experienced users make it a difficult sell for some of our occasional users.
  • Daptiv comes with Cognos reports that does allow reporting against all the data elements. However the lack of ability to extract data in any form other than an emailed report significantly limits the ability to interface with the data.
  • Changes to many of the data elements are not tracked to who made changes and when.
  • Access to data elements is at a very broad level making it difficult to allow third party users to use the tool with limited access.

  • If you have multiple mailboxes (i.e. - Shared mailbox) added to Outlook client, the add-in to create tasks doesn't function on the secondary mailboxes. You have to move/forward/copy the email to the primary mailbox in order to use the add-in.
  • There were frequent software updates (for desktop client) which meant we were constantly uninstalling the old client and installing the new client. Doing this meant that you have to "re-pin" the shortcut to your taskbar again (if you pinned previously).
  • I am not sure if Wrike is "intended" to be a Ticketing system for ITSM, but it works much better as a Project Management system rather than as a Ticketing system.

As previously mentioned, we were not able to get the product to solve our particular problem. After time spent implementing a custom solution, it was the decision of the executive team to discontinue the agreement. The costs of training the team didn't outweigh the cost of hiring an employee to do the translation of schedules to web view.

Wrike is a free resource for us currently, we moved off the subscription as the team had some adjustments. If we were to go back to a paid model or require more time reporting I'd have to look at alternatives such as Podio. I am the sole manager of Wrike currently internally, and would like to get more people on board to justify the cost

Wrike was difficult to learn at first. But with videos, emails on tips and tricks, I've been able to adapt. However, it's been difficult to convince other departments to use the program as it can be a bit overwhelming at first. I don't know what the solution is, other than to keep using it. Perhaps a template as a start for newbies?

Over two years of (almost) daily usage without outages. Don't remember any errors. I give it 9 only because some Wrike plugins (for online document edit) are based on NPAPI architecture. These types of plugins are being phased out in new browsers, and NPAPI plugins are disabled by default in recent versions of Chrome so you have to do some browser adjustments when you switch browsers or move to another computer.

For the most part, Wrike works very well. Every so often, the Apple/Mac application can be slow to load. Sometimes it requires a refresh and it is working fine again. I have not figured out if it is the software or just a computer issue

Wrike's customer support is top-notch! There are so many ways to get answers from Wrike - from their blog, videos online, community forum, contacting customer support. Whatever way you choose, you'll have an answer within 24 hours, often within just a few hours. I love my customer success manager because she meets with me via Zoom every quarter to show me new product updates, tips and tricks, and talk through any issues or wishes I have with the system. She then provides me with regular status updates on product suggestions I've made. It's awesome!

We initially had online training. A trainer took us through various training sessions where we learned about all of the tools Wrike provides. This alone allowed us to learn and set up the software and roll it out to our team. Later, a customer service rep stopped in for some one on one training which was extremely helpful.

This includes a 'getting started' sett of videos along with a collection of more in depth videos to assist more experienced users. Combined with their excellent chat support learning wrike is easy and it includes easy access to best practices.

I think it's really about developing a relationship with your Wrike partners, in tandem with your key stakeholders. Once everyone is on the same page, it makes implementation easier. Also, make sure you put a LOT of thought into your Wrike Knowledgebase, clearly plan how you are going to support your users with the key information and answers they will ask

Daptiv is an integrated toolset that satisfies our needs for multiple functions (project intake, resource capacity management, time tracking, portfolio planning and management). Daptiv was selected based on our evaluation of multiple tools. It was a close race between a couple of tools but we felt that Daptiv was a better fit for both our immediate and long term needs.

Please see the "Pros" that I gave Wrike. It's a very advanced, feature-rich, yet elegant piece of software that can grow with many companies as they complexify. Almost everything else that I use feels extremely limited and primitive by comparison, often slower and more buggy too.

Based on our experience, Wrike is very scalable. Our only issue is that you have to by seats (licenses) in certain increments. For example, when we started using Wrike we only needed 3 seats but we could not purchase any less than 5 so we were paying for 2 extra seats that weren't being used. We still currently have an extra seat open.
