Keyword Explorer has excellent filtering options and a great recommendation engine around related terms.
The On-Page Grader is an excellent gut check when publishing new service pages and blog posts.
Domain Authority has always served as an easily digestible number to assess how we're doing in our optimization efforts, as well as assessing competitors or outreach targets.

Cons

It can be a little difficult to navigate
More training resources would be an asset. A beginner is given the power to completely destroy a sites search results at the push of a button. Likewise it is a powerful tool to enhance search results also.
An option to take care of multiple versions of the same site simultaneously would be helpful. An option to use the same validation script across all versions and administer them simultaneously would be a time save (i.e. non-www, www, http://, and https:// versions of the same site).

Backlink database is limited
Industry specific jargons and mentions would be helpful
Error tracking is very misleading
Duplicate pages marking each page even when it’s not duplicate. In other words this algorithm is too sensitive. Provide ability or control to user to set the sensitivity of the duplicate page check

We've been paying monthly for Moz for at least four years. We rely heavily on it for our daily work, and would need to re-engineer many of our processes if we were to cancel our subscription. I suspect we'll continue to use Moz as long as we are in business (assuming they maintain their quality).

Google Search Console is a simple program that allows organizations to get a solid understanding of the way their site functions and how users land on it. It can be used for making critical business decisions regarding marketing budgets and that within itself is why it deserves a 10.

it's easy to use once you get the hang of it and most people with any sort of background in using online tools and analytics systems can figure it out. it's just not as intuitive as it could be like google webmaster tools or Adobe (Site Catalyst)

As with all Google software, your primary source of help is their forums, their knowledge base articles, or whatever tutorials you can find on the web. Often answers on their forums are not straightforward and may not address the actual issue you're experiencing. The KB articles are typically written like instruction manuals - for better or for worse. Tutorials on the web may vary, but the odds are good someone out there had the same questions as you and was kind enough to document their experience.

I have not had a ton of interaction with the support team. Mostly asking questions where I cannot find the answer or where the data did not quite make sense. I always use their easy to access chat feature to talk to support. They are very responsive and very well informed and can usually solve my issue with just one chat session.

Alternatives Considered

We use Google Search Console in tandem with other products like Google Analytics - not in place of it. Search Console definitely provides information about organic search keywords that Google Analytics does not provide, so that's been a very helpful addition. We also use Yoast to help with optimization of pages that might be identified by Search Console. In the past, I've used tools like Moz and Screaming Frog do some similar search/ranking analysis; those do have some more unique features that help to guide next steps, but I don't think they're replacements for what Search Console provides, especially given the crawl/sitemap features.

I like that I don't need to download anything to use all of the features MOZ has to offer. It is all contained online, so I don't have to open separate applications. And the cost is extremely reasonable.

Return on Investment

I'd say there is no business in the world that had negative ROI from GSC, since it's completely free, super easy to implement and has a great value for people with a brain. All of the companies I worked for in the last 10 years were using it and all of these companies had positive ROI.

I can't answer that question accurately as I don't have access to the budgetary metrics of our business.
I can say it's certainly helped us glean insight into HOW to gain a positive ROI, but can't attest to the true figures because I simply don't know.
