Hopin is quite expensive if you're holding a larger event with over 1000 registrants, and you want multiple stages. It's not suited for all budgets. It seems more appropriate for a paid virtual event, but large free events, especially since they charge per registrant instead of per attendee, Hopin may not be well suited for.

Influitive is well suited for any organization that is interested in engaging customers, mobilizing advocates, and helping to streamline their customer reference, content creation, and product innovation processes. Any customer-centric organization should have this in their toolkit! One thing to be aware of is that, in my opinion and experience, such programs work best with a robust rewards system in place, so this is something to consider in terms of budget, especially for smaller organizations with smaller budgets to spend on customer incentives. Make sure that you consider the cost of incentives and not just the cost of the platform because I think this can have a big impact on the success of the program.

  • Hopin was very simple to use from the start. If I had any questions, they had answers on their website and their support is great.
  • I like that we could make changes on a regular basis even during the live event.
  • I like that it incorporates a lot of what you find at a in-person event and it translates well virtually.

Hopin

  • Hopin should allow customers to upload pre-recorded videos to the platform (hosted by Hopin), for use during the conference. As it stands now, customers must provide their own external video hosting solution (we used Vimeo).
  • Hopin should have some customer support staff based in the USA or Canada, too--not just in the UK.
  • In view of the substantial cost of subscribing to Hopin, it seems as if the number of registrants allowed under the subscription without incurring overage fees should be somewhat higher than 1,000 registrants. (We anticipate going over that limit before our yearly subscription term is over.)

  • Reporting could use some improvement - sometimes it can be difficult to figure out the best way to get the data needed. There are few different ways to pull reports, so sometimes it feels complex.
  • Being able to have more flexibility with the positioning of the challenges on the advocate view would be great. If you could move around the challenges by dragging them, that would improve the usability.

I'm a pretty tech-savvy person but I still feel that Hopin was pretty user-friendly even for those of you who are less tech-savvy. Great thing is, you can play around and test the platform with the free version which allows you to get familiar with it before committing to the paid. I learned most of it on the free version which then made me more confident when deciding to use the paid version. Not only did it help me on the setup side, but it also proved to me that this was what we needed to do what we needed to do.

Influitive is very user friendly and makes it simple to navigate around the platform. This makes it easier for both admins and advocates alike to use the platform with ease and it also makes it much easier for us to get the results that we desire from the program. However, like any platform, it does have it's bugs sometimes.

Influitive AdvocateHub interacts with Blackbaud Champions and is an on-time response system. What I mean by that is once data is entered in Influitive AdvocateHub, it is updated in real time and I can access a computer and the data is there immediately. Sometimes the rewards do not show up right away and I am under the assumption that the delay is caused by an influx of traffic.

I've never run into a support team so responsive - I even sent them an edible arrangement after helping me with no fewer than five questions one day. Even on off hours, my non-urgent questions get handled. I'm just stunned by the responsiveness and quality of the support team at Influitive.

The training was extensive and gave me the knowledge/ skills that I needed in order to implement my advocacy program using Influitive's Advocate Hub. I also meet on a regular basis with my Customer Success Manager. My Success Manager helps give me ideas for my program and helps me ensure that it's successful. Influitive is really invested in my success. They act more like a partner than a vendor

To implement correctly, you HAVE to put in the time. This isn't a no-brainer implementation. It's easy from a technical end, but you have to have your community-building hat on and you have to actually put challenges into the product in order to see any results at all. If you have zero time to manage it, you will fail.

Hopin

Hopin is an all in one platform, that requires little integration. They are building and updating the product more and more each day so that it's the platform has all the features that you need. From registration to hosting the event, to post-event reporting, Hopin has it all. It is great.

And if there are things that we need, they are always willing to help us work through work arounds and solutions. I find them reliable and extremely professional and knowledgeable. The competitors are as well - but the user network is really top notch so you're covered in the entire ecosystem

Return on Investment

Hopin

  • This one is hard to say. We had a solution before, which was virtually free to use and worked okay for us. I can't really tell if using a high-priced platform like Hopin has increased the revenue brought in over the free solution. We would have to do a true split test where we sent half of our attendees to one platform and the other half to Hopin, and see if the additional spend is worth it. As far as true ROI, it's hard to compete with an infinite ROI since the other solution was free. But using Hopin may result in additional profit, meaning we may have made at least our investment more and then some over what we would have made using the free solution.

  • We've increased referrals, references, reviews, testimonials, social shares, etc ten fold.
  • We've been able to accomplish feats that would have previously taken days and months, and are able to complete them in minutes or hours. It's a huge time saver.
  • By giving our customers a strong voice, we are increasing loyalty, which in the end increases ROI as they are more likely to renew and reduces churn.
