Hands down one of the best PDF programs out there. I selected Kofax because I have used it in the past and remembered how easy it was to use. I also like the drag and drop features to combined documents, the ability to sign and stamp a document, and the ability to convert …
I have found Power PDF a much more powerful program than the commonly available shareware PDF editors and readers and it is much more affordable than Adobe products and easier to use. I also enjoy that I do not have to constantly update the program to correct bugs and security …
Power PDF has nearly all or perhaps more options than Adobe Acrobat Full version at a much lower cost. Adobe Reader DC does some things very well but is severely limited in most aspects. My experience with PDF exchange is that it seems rather disjointed and was harder to …
Kofax is particularly well suited when the work needed requires compiling a multitude of documents. The ease of functionality for compiling many PDFs into one large final product is imperative in my line of work and it exceeds all of my expectations. It vastly outperforms the competitors in this regard. Others do not have the same clean, final product with bookmarks and ease of compiling that Kofax provides.
If you'd like to switch from Adobe to a less expensive and more robust solution, you can choose PDF X Change. It does everything other expensive solutions do. We are using it to add some additional information on scanned PDF files and Sign them and it does it in a simple and easy way. You can use to combine multiple files into one, creating PDF from different resources.
Power PDF integrates well with the Microsoft 365 (formerly Microsoft Office ) modules. This makes it very convenient to create .pdf documents directly from Microsoft Word and Excel and automatically open the resulting .pdf document in Kofax Power PDF for any required post processing.
Power PDF allows easy "drag-and-drop" assembly of a .pdf document composed of pages from various other .pdf documents. This capability is crucial to generating a single cohesive .pdf document from a variety of source applications.
Power PDF's cropping function allows for easily picking out excerpts from a .pdf document for use in other .pdf documents or other applications. The ability to save these files in JPEG format also provides good flexibility for importing to other applications.
Difficult to add stamps - wanted to add a "checkmark" stamp and had to first find an image then work hard to make it a stamp
Would be nice to have a better library of stamps for different use cases
Sometimes the "search and redact" feature misses things if they are not exactly right. For example, the same numbers with a hyphen are found but without a hyphen, they are not.
There have been a couple of instances where I struggled to locate a feature that I thought was missing. A quick reply from support staff usually help me find and understand the feature better.
It is an awesome alternative to adobe. We like the 1 time fee over the monthly. We are typically offered discounts on updated products and services offered by kofax, and are overall very happy with the performance of the program. I can't see any reason to switch at this point
I have rarely, if ever, had to search the help file or read up on features to make them work. The features I use are fairly intuitive and quickly mastered. Kofax also provides a YouTube Channel with training videos that have been helpful on occasion. Mastery of frequently used features was simple
It's easy to use, making it very efficient for us as we do not have to train additional people on how to use this software. It opens up documents quickly and saves quickly as well. Overall the usability is not an issue for us at all. It is also extremely easy to integrate it with other PDF programs.
Other that a PDF partially disappearing if left up for a long period of time - no issues. (If you close it and reopen it, it is all there. We have some PDFs that are 400-600 pages long.)
Pages nearly always load at the expected rapid speed. Some documents that print quickly from Adobe Reader print much more slowly from Power PDF. I have never generated a report - that's a feature I didn't know existed until now and do not know what it's for
Performance wise, PDF Xchange Viewer and Editor is flawless. It runs fast, and I haven't experienced any immediately crashing. The reports save quickly, and the document size is never an issue. It saves into a regular PDF, and we're able to open it on any other program or computer. All text boxes, features, and headers show up flawlessly on other programs.
Again, Kofax/Nuance Power PDF does everything I need for a fraction of the cost of other/competitor software. The switch to Kofax/Nuance Power PDF was a breeze. The interface has some familiarity to it. We're able to create, collaborate, revise, track changes, password-protect, encrypt and share all types of PDFs - fillable, non-fillable, pre-populated, secure, etc.
I got an overview of the product from my predecessor who was about to retire from the job I now hold. He did not go into very many of the features and probably only knew about the ones he used most frequently.
We watched the training videos and tested out the features and functionality side by side. Some features are not used on a regular basis is it is convenient to go back and review training on that particular functionality when needed.
Easy and quick, with no problems or support needed. Worked as intended right out of the box. E-signing was the only area that implementation was dificult and required support
Kofax Power PDF seems to be as good or better than any Adobe PDF product and is much more affordable for small businesses! Price and features were the main drivers for my choice, besides the fact that I was familiar with the product through Nuance. I've been very happy with the flexibility of Kofax Power PDF.
PDF Xchange hits a sweet spot for me and my users. It is powerful, includes a full suite of creation, markup, and management tools. It is very affordable.
Bluebeam is too much that isn't print and PDF related. It is EXPENSIVE ... more than $300 per person before almost mandatory additional training.
PDF Creator is good for PDF creation. It doesn't include markup and management tools.
Not really familiar since I'm the only person who uses it. But in the past it has been my understanding that Power PDF was offered only on a single-license basis, so it's been expensive for me to use it at home and at work because I had to pay for it on my own. In my current position management supports it so I at least only have to pay for it once.
The ability to make images of text searchable enables me to do my job. Without this ability it was virtually impossible to find relevant information in these large documents.
The return on investment was huge. I can now take on much more work than before.
