Adobe Connect is a web conferencing platform that enables users to create presentations, online training materials, and learning modules. The product is entirely Adobe Flash-based and has several add-ons for customizing its software to suit each users’ unique needs.https://media.trustradius.com/product-logos/cK/jY/1XN9JTDUH7RO.JPEGFunction and Form with a Learning CurveAdobe has allowed us to keep our training headcount limited while still providing training to individuals around the country. Adobe allows a team of 8 to support 200+ individuals on each new hire week, in 50+ offices in 36 states. Adobe being used for training has also allowed us to refocus some other individuals away from training and into other projects because of the reach the program now allows us to have. The product allows us to provide live customer-facing demonstrations of new technology. We're able to send a quick link and easily screencast and conference with customers across the country.,Internal communications Lead generation Training,All of my Adobe presentations look extremely professional. The ability to import files that I've created in other programs allows me to utilize different design tools and bring their best elements with me. Breakout rooms are excellent for taking a large class and separating them into smaller groups where they can collaborate and then come back to the large group experience. This is vital for us in building a virtual learning space that people are actively engaged in. Simple interface for starting cameras and microphones. We've used some other products that needed their own manual for turning on a webcam. This is a simple click and even provides a preview before anything goes live. This is in addition to a splash screen when you enter a meeting that will walk all new users through the process, saving the presenters time.,Our biggest complaint is always the lag in VoIP conferencing. It seems to fluctuate, but we can have as much as 5-7 seconds of delay at times. This can be a quick way to stifle any discussion that might be taking place. This ends up with a lot of people talking over one another. First-time users sometimes have issues getting the program to open. There is an initial download to get the meeting rooms open and if it doesn't happen automatically, we need to instruct users to try and rejoin the meeting. This isn't a difficult step, but it can prove to be annoying when working with 30-50 new users at one time.,7,Provided a larger platform for us to expand our training nationally. Regardless of location, we've been able to provide L&D resources to every level of the company. The easy user interface has allowed us to provide accounts for multiple departments bringing their meetings together nationwide with video and presentations, rather than just a conference call.,,Workday Human Capital Management, Skype for Business, Ambition, Chrome River EXPENSE,,,Training Department meetings Webinars,Recording quick-hit videos with attached documentation for people to view when it fits their schedule.,10Adobe Connect - The Luxury Car of Collaboration ToolsAdobe Connect is being used across my entire organization to deliver dozens of webinars every week, facilitate meetings, and deliver training. As a sales and marketing organization it allows us to meet with vendors, partners and other colleagues to conduct business. Internally, we use it for training purposes to get new hires up to speed quickly and to keep the experienced employees aware of product changes and upgrades. Our Marketing team uses the webinar module to produce high quality events that reach a large number of customers. Adobe Connect allows us to meet more often and to reach a globally dispersed customer base.,Adobe Connect doesn't require a download for participants, so getting customers, partners, vendors and other users into our meetings, webinars and virtual classrooms is easy. We deal with a lot of locked down, security conscious, agencies and company's so this is huge for us. We don't have to worry if someone is on a MAC or a PC, or what browser they are using, they just click a link and get in. The meeting rooms we create are persistent, so we can use the same virtual meeting space over and over. We can customize the URL's so that the people we invite come to the same place every time we meet. And the room is always how we last left it which is nice when you have a weekly recurring meeting. Security is important to our company, so having SSL encryption and the ability to turn on/off certain features is essential. We can also set permissions as to who and how users can access our meeting rooms. The campaign tracking and lead qualification features of the webinar module allow us to see how well we are driving leads from different sources. We can analyze how user view our events and where they exit the registration process to help us improve our marketing content and verbiage.,The training module is great and provides a lot of analytics, but the reporting could be updated to a fresher look, especially when exporting data into a spreadsheet. The webinar module can do a lot of great things, but it does have a learning curve. Streamlining the process to make it more intuitive would be a nice change. There is a ton of cutomization that can be done from a branding perspective, but there are a few places where you are locked into Adobe's verbiage and it would be nice if everything could be branded the way we want it.,10,Our company saves thousands of dollars every year by conducting webinars and virtual conferences online instead of live events. The leads we get from marketing events are better qualified when we use the webinar module because we can customize the registration forms and see from where the leads were generated. I work a lot with the Department of Defense and they have saved hundreds of thousands in training costs, since much of their budgets have been tightened or eliminated.,,10,9,6Connect with AdobeOver the past two years, Rasmussen College has moved to more real-time virtual teaching opportunities to connect students, primarily in the online format or through live office hours to their instructors. The college moved towards implementing Adobe Connect in Live Lectures and also in virtual meetings connecting students from across the world and campuses across 22 campuses and online. This has allowed us to make personal connections through face to face interactions. It has increased personal relationships and developed stronger bonds between students and faculty as well as across departments.,Adobe Connect allows the opportunity for students to truly get to know their instructors who may not be available in person. File sharing and uploading; ease of sharing materials. Polling abilities to keep students actively involved in the discussions and engaged in the online forum. Easy to use including screen sharing, video options and methods for engaging participants. Faculty meetings and department meetings across all campuses are more easily facilitated with more people in attendance.,Adobe Connect takes time to get comfortable with (as does anything!) At times, the uploading of files and the formats acceptable can be a challenge. Audio on playbacks can be off. This might be a bandwidth issue.,10,Adobe Connect has increased student success and student relationships with instructors. Employees are now able to log-in for meetings that fit around their schedule while still being able to view archives for missed information. Employees from a variety of places are able to come together to gain insights on best practices, new college initiatives and state of the college as well as share ideas.,,,,Connecting students with online faculty to help increase their human element in courses roll out new information in company wide information and connect all the campuses and employees together Connect faculty members together to support them in increasing student engagement,Study groups traditionally on campus are now held through Adobe Connect to get students more connected Faculty meetings come to life with an easy ways to share ideas It has opened up faculty to new innovative ways to work with students to prepare them for technology in their own careers,10,5Adobe- You cannot go wrong! We use Adobe Connect across the organization for Meetings and Training purposes. It solves the travel gap for training and allows for audio/video to deliver information in a seamless way.,Connect ability - no downloading like GoToMeeting Ease of use for presenters - archive and sharing connect is great Communication Styles- It is great to have audio, visual, chat, and poll functions Break out rooms - when training we can present a topic, then give an exercise and have group break out remotely to complete the exercise.,Graphic Display- It does not support all graphics (WordArt). All graphics must be saved as objects Screen Share and Presentation Window can sometimes be small, when you are using Chat/Webcam,9,Employee efficiency Excellent Training Tool,,9Adobe Connect - A highly customizable and robust platform for live online eventsOur department uses Adobe Connect to deliver highly interactive live online training. We deliver over 100 training programs every month and utilize Adobe Connect to help us put on several training sessions each day. With this program, we can keep things interactive and give participants a chance to experience something beyond a standard lecture or webinar. By using the status tools, whiteboards, breakout rooms, and other tools, we get attendees involved and give them a unique experience where we are able to address their individual needs.,Very flexible and customizable. We deliver many different types of sessions with a number of layouts. Setting these up is quick and painless. Reliable performance. I have used many different live online event programs and this is the most reliable in my opinion. The template feature allows us to create a series of layouts for one type of session and easily duplicate them when we are ready to run another session of the same program. Breakout rooms and whiteboard tools allow us to replicate the feel and interactivity of a face to face classroom.,The customer service could be better. Whenever a problem arises it can be difficult to quickly resolve. It could be more customizable in terms of aesthetics. A bit boring looking. Our needs are fairly unique for Adobe Connect as we deliver so many programs each week. It would be nice to be able to work with a representative to further customize the program for our unique needs.,10,We are able to host several concurrent events every day on one platform with ease. I can't imagine delivering our training on any other platform at the moment, the breakout rooms, whiteboards, and status tools alone make it a great experience for participants. We are able to replicate the feel of a face to face classroom with this product. Our participants seem to enjoy the interactivity and intuitive nature of Adobe Connect for online training.,,9Adobe Connect for Education and TrainingWe use Adobe Connect to Deliver and track HR/Compliance TrainingSupport Online Meetings for employeesSupport Online Meetings for students in their classesDeliver and Track content,Provides direct and seamless integration with desktop development tools like Adobe Presenter and Adobe Captivate Granular access control features for content, content folders Granular quiz reporting options Robust meeting and training platform Direct integration with our Learning Management System, BlueQuill Self-service for meeting Hosts,It is difficult to get resolutions to issues from Adobe directly The automatic reminders and email functions work inconsistently - known issue Reporting features work inconsistently - known issue Although there is a high-level of granularity with the configuration and permissions, there are a number of permissions that are locked down that we would like to have been able to configure.,9,Maintaining records of training completion across the orgainization Distributing the management and workflow across the organzation Distributing the content creation and management across the organization Adobe Connect was roughly HALF the cost of competitor's products for a similar number of seats/concurrent licenses.,BigBlueButton,Skype,Lync,GotToMeeting,BlackBoard Collaborate,,,Students meeting with their instructors for weekly class session. In the past year, we have started leveraging Adobe Connect as an enterprise-wide delivery method for virtual instructor-led training. Recently, we needed to train over 1800 employees all across the country on a new approach to sales and customer service. The project would have likely taken us 6-12 months using traditional instructor-led classrooms and would have required extensive travel for most participants and trainers. With Adobe Connect we were able to deploy 20 hours of training to all employees in under two months with little to no travel required.,Shared Templates in Adobe Connect help package content for convenient and consistent delivery of project and training materials. Chat pods, poll pods, whiteboards and other features encourage interactivity beyond traditional lecture format. Adobe Connect supports many file types, which enables you to pre-load several forms of multimedia for presentations, such as slides, images and video. Breakout Rooms enable a project lead or trainer to engage with participants on an individual or small group basis.,Slides and images can be pre-loaded and deployed easily, but we have noticed some buffering issues when attempting to show video as a pre-loaded file. Shared Templates offer a great way to set up and save multiple pods and layouts, however, we have encountered some issues when attempting to set up and save Breakout Rooms in a Shared Template. When demonstrating screen-share tutorials for software, some parts of the application do not always render correctly for the viewer. In our experience, this problem typically occurs with more complex, multi-window applications.,9,Rapid deployment of enterprise-wide training Scalable classrooms to accommodate large audiences Less travel for training participants and less time required away from work to attend training,WebEx Meetings,Blackboard,9,,Team/Divisional meetings Project meetings Training sessions (New-hire and current employees),Enterprise-wide training solutions Train the trainer sessions for new courses Software and billing system tutorials Recorded webinars for employees and vendors,Global training sessions Recorded webinars for assessment of training Assistance with software questions and issues,Screen and file sharing Various pods, such as Chat, Poll, Notes and Files Creating and switching between several layouts in one room,Breakout Rooms require more attention and preparation than other features Some time delay when participants share screen Larger multimedia files such as videos take longer to load and display,Yes,9Connect with your students with AdobeConnect! Our organization switched from Cisco's WebEx to AdobeConnect 3 years ago, en masse. It was a directive from the top executives, primarily due to a 'conflict of interest' in having a business relationship with our direct competitor. So, while the directive was initially 'groaned' at (en masse), changes in employee enthusiasm became readily apparent after a few months of use (and training). There are several key departments within our org that use AC on a daily-basis: mostly used for the typical business conference-calls/meeting room, but also used by my department for technical training purposes.,The Training function is extremely robust for sharing: we hold week-long technical training classes using a number of tools provided by AC. The ability to share the desktop is the most basic function, and it works exactly as it should - stably, quickly and compatibly across the various OSes. The Training function allows for breakout rooms: we have, on average, 12 students in our classrooms. We typically use the dial-in bridge function (POTS) to ensure consistent audio quality, regardless of bandwidth issues. Our curriculum includes hands-on eLab functionality, and we pair-up the students during the 2nd-half of each day using the breakout-room function, which 'tucks' each pair of students into their own classroom, including the full telephony & AC tools for each breakout room. As the Host, I can easily 'jump' from room to room, giving me the ability to 'wander around the classroom' like in real life. We have a large amount of course-offerings, each with their own sets of resources: Instructor guides, PowerPoint decks, Student guides, websites for technical support, as well as remote 'hands-on' equipment access, and the corresponding eLab procedural documents. We have organized all of these various resources in the AC 'cloud' that's provided within each classroom, making classroom readiness a breeze. Essentially, our technical trainers don't need to worry about having any of the courseware, PowerPoint slides and all the other 'crap' on their local computer when they log into the classroom. This 'cloud' storage is managed by our Content Development Team, so when major (and, more importantly, minor) changes & releases are made, the CDT backend process includes 'uploading' the content to the AC 'cloud', for each classroom. Basically, the flexibility of AC allows solid integration with our CDT release management process.,AC allows for the meetings & training sessions to be recorded, and the recordings are stored in the AC 'cloud'. Further, the AC recording backend creates a 'shareable' URL for distribution of the content, quite easily. Further, there's even an integrated video editing function, giving you the opportunity to 'clean-up' any recorded content while it's in the cloud - no need to download the video file and edit it locally, then upload it again. While these are great functions, there are times that the video needs to be downloaded - particularly training videos - for further post-production editing, and subsequent video hosting elsewhere (like LMS systems, OnDemand portals, etc.). This is where the AC recording function falls flat on its face. In order to download the recording, a 'kludgy' series of time-consuming steps are required. Quite literally, the recorded video must be 'streamed' to your local computer through an AC 'streaming capture' web function. Once the recorded video stream is completed, the file saved is an .FLV file, which is not our desired format (.MP4 is what we want). To re-phrase: you have to re-play to whole session (or sessions, in our case) on your computer, tying it up for many hours while it builds up the .FLV file on your local hard drive. There is a sub-function of this process, where you can pause the playback, save-off the current chunk, and then resume where you left off. This gives you the option to 'on-the-fly' create a multi-part presentation (ie: part 1 of 3, part 2 of 3, part 3 of 3, etc). THE REQUEST: AC should process the video in THEIR backend systems, and give you a couple of download links (.MP4, .FLV, .AVI, etc). I picture a quick 'Wizard' on the front-end of this function, wherein you can select which 'pod' (or pods) are recorded, and a few other pre-production knobs & dials, then click 'start'. An email with the links shows up in your inbox, and you DOWNLOAD an 'already processed' video. Then, I can put it into my local video-edition software, and create awesome.,9,I can't answer for the other departments, but for our specific teams, AC has allowed us to present a much more immersive and comprehensive training experience for our students. It's a comfortable, inviting environment, which is critical for an online classroom. Sitting in front of a screen for 6 hours is tough. Add to that the training component, and attendees will tire quickly, get frustrated at seemingly stupid hurdles and ultimately the training ecosystem causes the actual training content to get lost in the shuffle. Smooth transitions, easily navigated sections and loads of options make AC come together for us all.,WebEx Meetings,10Abobe Connect - Simple, yet powerful!Adobe Connect has been a main focus of our organization, and a main business offering for the last 5 years. It has been used in many aspects of our business from simple internal meetings to the main focus for clients in general sessions at major events. For us, the main business problem it addressed was our need for a platform to offer our clients that offered an easy to use software that could be used to host collaborative meetings around the world.,Collaboration - It doesn't portray itself as a high-definition video platform. Most times it is accessed with webcams. But a strong focus has always been on its collaborative nature. Allowing for a wide range of materials to be shared with other viewers, it can be used for information collection as well as distribution with input coming from any user. Communication - With a large portion of businesses looking to hold larger meetings allowing a greater portion of their employee base to take part in a meeting that might have once been local, or required people to be flown in, it provides a simpler means to gather information from many locations all at once - globally. Cost - Many businesses are looking to cut costs from their events, and Adobe Connect is an ideal platform to help the bottom line. With one installation, you have now a perfect place for meetings to be held around the world without the costs of hotel rooms, conference areas, food and travel. Your users don't even have to get dressed if they don't want to. information is passed on with only a click into a meeting room.,High Definition - It seems that no matter where you look, modern cameras are capable of capturing high definition video footage. Adobe needs to think about finding a way to upgrade the video quality and consistency that is viewable by the audience. There is the "least common denominator" factor to consider, but that is quickly rising, allowing better video opportunities. HTML5 - As technology advances, so should Adobe. HTML5 offers the potential to hold meetings on any device despite its platform. Flash - Quickly on its way out. It was one of the most proliferative installations on everyone's computer and in its time was stupendous. But it is quickly becoming dated. With the advent of HTML5, flash is quickly not becoming needed in order to have cross-platform content happen. With a strong push by Adobe, this could quickly become a reality for Connect.,8,Flexibility - Every client's needs are different. When you are faced with a meeting that is as simple as slide sharing with audio, or as complex as a major general session with breakout rooms and the ability to view and interact on a wide range of devices, Connect has you covered. Ease-Of-Use - With a simple interface that is easy to learn as well as easy to teach, it offers anyone with a wide variety of technological experience the ability to hold a meeting any time or anywhere. Bottom Line - The gear required to actually host Adobe Connect can be as simple as a laptop or an iPad. You most likely already have everything you need to host a meeting at your home with very little setup required.,GoToMeeting,WebEx Meetings,10Adobe Connect meets needs, but lacks reliabilityAt Foley, we utilize the Adobe Connect Web Conference platform in both our external and internal CLE sessions in the Marketing Department as well as internal training sessions through our Technology Team. The Marketing Department is the primary user of Adobe Connect, with attorneys and outside speakers using it solely for presenting purposes. We hold multiple Web Conferences each month and it is our primary tool for coordinating and executing each session.,It allows us to present exactly how we want to present; We can share one PowerPoint presentation for all speakers to use during their presentation, allowing them to move their own slides. Allows for a cleaner presentation overall. Relatively user-friendly once you're in your Seminar Room for your presentation. Attorneys seem to be able to use the software with ease. Various pods in your Seminar Room allow you to set up your room exactly as you want it with the features you use most often or find helpful during your presentation.,Overall support and communication from Adobe Connect is lacking. When new features come out, we have a lack of knowledge of what changes are actually being made. Mostly we figure out what the changes are based on our own experiences and usually something that goes wrong during a Web Conference. There should be detailed information that is provided to us when changes will be made and how to adapt our current processes with those changes. Setting up a Web Conference is not intuitive with Adobe Connect. Even after using the product for over a year, I still refer back to the notes I took during my tutorial session. Making a mistake with one question in either the Seminar Room or the Event Management tab can create major problems the day of the Web Conference. The process needs to be streamlined in order to make the front-end process more user friendly. Certain features of the room itself could have been better thought out before implenting across the board. For example, the rule of only 10 people maximum in a room until a certain point can actually cause major problems for users. There have been situations on our team where hosts and speakers have been locked out of the room right before a presentation. I think they need to listen to their users more in order to implement more changes with the software. I think Adobe Connect lacks reliability. Many of our attendees and even speakers or hosts are dropped from the Seminar Room during our presentations. This is unacceptable during external client facing programs.,2,Unfortunately, some of our marketers have actually stopped doing Web conferences with their attorneys due to our reliability issues with the software. We're losing out on key touchpoints with our clients and prospects because of reliability and complexity issues. I think the ability to do Web conferences does help greatly. It's another service we can offer to existing clients to present in-house CLE series for their GCs. It also helps establish our attorneys as thoguht leaders in a given area. I think one of our biggest issues is the reliability of the software, which many times can reflect badly on us and in turn may make our contacts not come back for a second web conference. We hope that the content we provide outweighs any technical issues our participants have, but we cannot be sure of this factor.,Webcast Studio,1Adobe Connect: Wonderful tool, yet frustrating at times.Adobe Connect is currently being used by our company to conduct team meetings, and occasional client interactions. Screensharing is sometimes a critical component to supporting our customers, and we use Adobe Connect in this capacity. We also hold team meetings with 20+ participants on webcam at the same time.,Screensharing is fluid, very easy to read, fullscreen option is fantastic Allows for flexible layouts that can be customized for individual use cases Allows us to brand the experience,Audio. I'm certain that, of all the people polled, that audio will be at the top of everyone's "need to improve" list. Anyone who uses Adobe Connect with international participants will tell you, audio is by far the biggest sore spot. Unless someone calls into a local GlobalMeet/PGI telephone line from a traditional landline connection, audio is spotty. There should be an easier way to export recordings to a single file, such as MP4 or FLV. Having to play back the entire recording is a nuisance. At least with a single-file format, we could then host the file with a service like Brightcove. Recording playback for international participants is a problem - bandwidth concerns are constantly a problem, and recordings are mostly unusable for our participants in AU. Adobe needs a multi-region streaming service, if they can't figure out how to save in a single-file format. Linux users are unable to use the full capabilities of this software, which has led to internal strife and questions about the product.,8,Better, more thorough customer service Expensive when having to rely on external audio services Expensive when having to rely on other ways of distributing recordings (Brightcove, YouTube, other VDNs) to international participants,WebEx Meetings,GoToMeeting,Elluminate,Blackboard Collaborate,10Great for educational and training presentationsI used Adobe Connect as part of my e-learning at Capella University. The tool was helpful in recording video presentations for my online classes and being able to view other students' presentations in order to get full credit for the class.,I like the fact that I was able to customize the layout of the presentation and select different components including the video feed to be displayed on the screen I like that presentation can be recorded offline to be viewed later and that multiple versions can be stored to pick the best one I like that the application is easy to learn and is fairly intuitive to use,My biggest challenge was editing the video. When I wanted to delete parts of it, that wasn't always the most precise process, so often I had to re-record the entire presentation because that was faster.,8,This really does not apply to me from the business stand point, however, it did help me improve my presentation skills since I was able to see myself on video and was able to improve my presence and non-verbal cues.,,10Adobe Connect: A Preferred Choice for creating Virtual Learning ExperienceI was working as an Instructional Assistant in University of Houston. I used Adobe Connect for facilitating virtual classroom discussions. It is used by our department. Students who were unable to attend face to face classes, virtual classroom was a preferred option for them. Adobe connect was successful in catering this learning need.,Easy to install Meeting can be recorded and archived. Documents and files are saved and can be managed easily. Desktop sharing.,Audio and Video quality We used polycom and acoustics with Adobe connect. However both the instruments had problems and used to affect audio and video quality. As a user if we get a detailed information from you on which supporting equipments we should use and tips on the same.,7,Well, I can not comment on this as I was an user and was not in the process of decision making. However I feel that it certainly helps to facilitate in achieving business objectives. It can surely provide faster solutions.,,7I like Adobe Connect, I'd bet you will tooAdobe Connect is used as an interactive classroom, as a virtual meeting space for corporate and non academic meetings, and as a means to train employees. I also use the platform to create training videos for my co-workers, and to screen share when trouble shooting both colleagues and end users issues.,The software is easy for end users to deal with, since its built on flash, and has a few wizards. We replaced another virtual classroom title and since, I've enjoyed the lack of end users connection issues. It just works well. The way hosts are able to create their own meeting space means that I don't have to allocate resources to meeting space creation with over 2000 meeting hosts I really appreciate that ability. The content is independent of the meeting itself, and that's good. Meetings do break, it's software, but if your meeting does become corrupt, any user can quickly create a meeting and re-share the same content.,The first tier support is lacking, I originally had standard support. That means long waits for support staff, who typically cannot provide help, it was very hit or miss, more often miss and they will, without exception be in an out of country call center, and challenging to communicate with. Since I've upgraded to premium support, and it's night and day. Still not perfect, but always helpful and knowledgeable. Little info is given if something goes wrong, the system tends to pretend everything is fine, even if it is not. This can be nice for the end user, if the email function is broken it will tell you emails are on the way that are not. Having to deal with a third party for audio conferencing is confusing and awkward, at first.,8,Decreased administrative attention has been required since it replaced our previous virtual class room tile. End users have reported they are having a better experience as hosts and attendees. Support staff spend less time supporting this tile. It's flash based and easily out preforms it's java based counterparts.,Wimba,Blackboard Colobrate,go to meeting,8Adobe Connect Simply Works!Adobe Connect is being used sporadically but globally throughout the organization. It is primarily used as a training delivery platform to supplement MS Lync. It addresses the need for a more robust set of features for delivering virtual training than are offered with Lync.,It works without any special install or plugin as all machines have flash already installed The interface is intuitive You can set up multiple layouts in advance, switch between them as needed, and they remain until you re-launch the software,You can run into system lag issues when multiple users are using the markup tools Some file types must be converted before they can be uploaded for sharing and markup It can be glitchy,8,It is easier for our Subject Matter Experts to use right out of the box It has increased the recognition of how effetcive virtual training can be,,8,100,5,Interactive training Video conferences Meetings and webinars,End users share their desktop for software troubleshooting,We plan to integrate it more fully with our LMS,Yes,Product Usability Prior Experience with the Product,I would get a better understanding of how to integrate our teleconference services to make it easier for us to record sessions as well as use the breakout room functionality.,Don't know,Change management was minimal,Who would support it? Some areas of the firm had access issues,7,No,7,We had a scale issue where we had excessive attendees at a session beyond our contract and we were able to get same day support to cover us.,content sharing markup video, mutliple whiteboarding breakout rooms,Yes,8Adobe Field Staff ConnectThis is being used on a national and global basis. We use if for presentations, conference calls, and online training. The vast majority of our employees work remotely and Adobe Connect has provided us the needed technology to collaborate over long distances.,Share your screen, files, whiteboard. This is much easier than emailing around multiple files. It also allows you to demonstrate technology and record it which makes training videos. Allows VOIP of dial in capability for those who do not have good phone reception because of remote work locations. Your able to schedule multiple types of calls via the Adobe Connect account as well as start meets with short notice with a simple link.,Echo software for VOIP use. A lot of time there is an echo and users with less experience are unable to fix the problem. Mute all. When selecting mute all attendees, those who after after that are not muted. Is there, or there should be, and option to mute everyone and have them on mute when they join.,9,Increases employee efficiency. Decreased travel expenses,,9Great online platform for professors & students!Adobe Connect is being used by my organization for meeting and online classes. It's a great tool for online information sharing. It has engaging features and easy to use.,Intuitive to navigate Engaging features Customizable,Does not reset on close- have to delete chats Doorbell and some other fun features are hard to find,9,Increase student participation.,,10Adobe Connect works for my group!Adobe Connect is being used as the leading web conferencing system for "external" virtual presentations. We use it in my department regularly for webinar presentations.,ease of use for participants audio integration screen sharing document sharing polling, registration audio integration with videos,9,ease of connecting with off-site staff members easy to share and edit documetns together,Blackboard,GoToMeeting,10,signing in creating a new meeting room,registration,Yes,10Adobe cannot ConnectThis was used as an eLearning tool but I found that when more than 4 people attended, the system was bogged down and latency was quite large. It ended up that the meeting had to be muted by the participants and then only one person at a time could actually speak without it dropping other people. I wasn't impressed. I think WebEx is better suited for a large group.,Good for small groups (under five people) Allows for collaboration Allows for sharing of multimedia,Fix the system so more than 5 people can be on at one time.,1,It was disasterous. We ended up using WebEx,webex,WebEx Meetings,WebEx Support Center,1,9Adobe Connect forefront of webinarAdobe Connect is mostly used for the online courses and any online workshops that the department offers. It addresses being able to reach a larger audience, as well as a recording function that allows those who missed the initial presentation to watch/observe it.,Adobe Connect is typically easy to load up and use. Rarely are there complaints about being able to access Adobe Connect. Adobe Connect has a good recording functionality - the quality is pretty good. I like that Adobe Connect is easily accessible with a mobile device. The course reporting and ability to access engagement is one of the best developed that I have ever seen.,I would like to see a better option to preload polling and able to conduct that throughout the presentation. It would be nice for the viewers of the recording to be able to submit their name, contact and also a way for the presenter to see if the recording was watched in its complete capacity (or how long the viewer actually sat through the recording). A cheaper version for nonprofit entities would also be appreciated!,9,Better customer service with students and alumni as it allows another form of communication Another way of reaching out to students Being able to access various audiences that cannot be there in person,8,7Adobe Connect: what "grown ups" chooseI consult with organizations that are selecting solutions for e-learning, webinar, and collaboration use cases. These are often point needs within particular departments, but are occasionally enterprise wide needs. Typical problems that compel people to consider Adobe Connect, include a desire for greater engagement, ease of use, and higher levels of impact -- to address use cases that have in the past required travel or been met by other solutions that didn't work well. What this means is that Adobe Connect is often a product the people "trade up" to when they've used something "flatter" or a product with low cost but lower levels of performance in the past. With Connect, use cases, such as classrooms, can be completely put on-line -- allowing for break-out sessions, mobile user involvement, multiple facilitator situations, and webinar use cases can keep higher percentage of audiences engaged with content for the full event. This, typically, has a very high ROI and is considered desirable.,Hands down, the best Virtual Classroom - Connect is unparalleled in its use here. From breakout rooms, to an unlimited selection of audio providers, to multiple presenters and hosts, to tools that you need as a professional facilitator -- Connect is the "grown ups' choice" for virtual classroom. If your use case involves live Virtual Classroom, you should be using Adobe Connect. Product openness and extensibility -- Competing products are "walled gardens": they only let you use the features that the product manager wants you to have. Adobe Connect, because it is built using an open architecture, lets you create your own components that you can easily create and integrate. Whether these are high end simulations that mimic operational equipment, high definition videos you want to play, or applications that provide interactive experiences for your audience, anything you can conceive, you can create and use as part of your Adobe Connect rooms. Ubiquitous performance - Adobe Connect runs everywhere without painful port opening, extension enabling, or other IT issues. Desktop users don't have to do any big client downloads, and mobile support is enabled through free app-store downloads -- allowing folks to lead and participate from wherever they are. As a facilitator, I can prepare my content in my Adobe Connect room, then travel on vacation next week -- without taking a laptop with me -- and deliver my content using a hotel computer across the world. Or, perhaps I am stuck in an airport -- I can lead my entire session from my iPhone or Android tablet. This freedom to lead and participate from anywhere on any device is extraordinary. Easy -- Ease of use is huge. Participants get links they click on -- and immediately enter rooms - no downloads, no muss, no fuss. Hosts build meeting rooms -- which they can use over and over and refine. For those of us who do presentations, webinars, and classes professionally, this is an enormous benefit. We can build rooms that are specific to what we wish to communicate and hone them to be profoundly effective. Moreover, we can template these and build fresh ones using that content, and we can simply re-use our rooms with no further preparation time, over and over again. In contrast -- competing products make you enter your meeting area right before your meeting and prepare your content at that time. This usually means that if you are using a competing product, you end up wasting loads of time and, frankly, you are not building much interactivity and impact into your sessions because you have to do so every time you want to conduct a session. Integration -- There is no product that plays better with others than Adobe Connect. This makes the product so useful and flexible that you might say that Connect is the "swiss army knife" in the space. Connect has a super easy to use interface for people who just want to get in and do something. It also has a fully exposed set of Application Programming Interfaces (API) that let you build whatever you want on top of connect (some organizations have completely built their own context appropriate front end on top of Connect, using the raw Connect functionality underneath to power their application.) This means you can have Connect fully integrated with your enterprise IT infrastructure -- using Single Signon, customization of user experience, and branding -- and if you are technical, you can do this all yourself. These are huge differentiators compared to the flatter products on the market that want you to use the service only in the primary delivery modality their product manager conceived. Many Deployment Options -- You can deploy Connect any way you want. Most people just want a low cost, reliable-enough platform to use. Adobe Connect's multi-tenant hosted service fits there. Others want high levels of integration with their own LMS systems, Salesforce, Marketo, other enterprise systems, reporting systems, etc. Adobe Connect on Premise or Adobe Connect Managed Service deployments fit there. yet other clients require FEDRAMP and HIPAA levels of security. Adobe Connect Managed Service and other Adobe Connect Private Cloud deployment strategies meet those requirements. Try taking the above list to any competing vendor and watch the expression on their face. Most deploy their products only in one way -- take it or leave it. With Adobe Connect, you have the full range of choices available to you. High touch resellers-Unlike most other products in the market, Adobe Connect is sold through resellers. This means that there are real people, located on the same continent as you, who speak your language who can help you select and implement your product. When I used competing, flatter products -- the service side was flatter, too. I bought those competing products on the web, I had to figure everything out myself, and God help me if I actually wanted to talk to a human being to get help. Because Adobe Connect is sold regionally by resellers like GetConnect with long history and deeply experienced people, this means that you get a successful program, not just a product.,Adobe Connect is very deep and very broad. It is not for someone who is looking for a simple chat client. Occasionally I will find someone who wants just one button to push to make the product go. Adobe Connect isn't like that. It is the "grown ups' product" and it has very deep capabilities. Adobe Connect is modular -- each module has a specific function that maps to use case business needs. This depth is often a little confusing at first, because each module has its own learning curve. At the end of the day, it is a very good thing, but you need to plan a little time to get familiar with what the modules you have purchased do, because they are deep. Adobe Connect has the ability to do quite advanced, powerful things. The flip side of this is that you need to be an adult about choosing what you are going to inflict on your audience. For example, you can conduct very highly engaging sessions with interactive elements that are respectful of your audience's bandwidth. Or you can be an absolute boor and force your audience to need a 1 Meg internet connection to have a good experience. But you need to be an adult and make good choices. In a way, this is the flip side of power -- you have to use it responsibly. Other products that don't do very much solve this problem quite differently -- they prevent you from doing anything substantive that could consume too much bandwidth. Of course, that is a primary reason people move up to Adobe Connect -- because they want something better.,10,Travel Avoidance: Because of Adobe Connect's quality and breadth of features, activities usually relegated strictly to classrooms, including skill practices, small group breakouts, and moderated individual work, can all be accomplished with Adobe Connect. This takes the typical travel Avoidance ROI rationale and puts it on steroids -- when you realize you don't need to go anywhere anymore and still can do a great job. Time to productivity: Adobe Connect lets you reach your audiences at time of need, reducing time to productivity. Many customers with high growth and high turnover environments (call centers, customer support, seasonal needs, ACA scale up initiatives at BCBS organizations, to name a few) have found that by using Adobe Connect you can meet the need for knowledge transfer much faster -- and this reduced time to productivity has a big impact in gained productivity and avoided costs. Other solutions waste a bunch of time. For example, because Adobe Connect uses "persistent rooms" (the rooms you build stay just as you left them) you never have to waste your time re-building before a meeting. People generally find this saves them 5 - 15 minutes, personally, per meeting. That is time you can be using to conduct another meeting. Participants don't have to download things to participate. This is huge. Many times, with other products people slot a hour meeting but plan only 45 or 50 minutes of content because they aren't sure how long it will take their participants to download the plug ins, install everything, and get through security hoops. Consider what the COST of that is in an organization using a product all day long -- if everyone at every meeting has, essentially 10 minutes in every hour where they're waiting for the meeting to be ready. that is EXPENSIVE. With Adobe Connect, you hit the meeting link and bam -- you're in the session. This gives you the full hour for your one hour meetings.,WebEx Meetings,GoToMeeting,10Adobe Connect connects us to our members in new and better waysWe host numerous webinars throughout the year for groups ranging from small committees of 5 or 6 people on up to audiences of 100-200. It is managed by the communications department for the entire organization. We also host webinars for our chapters across the country, providing them with a platform and level of expertise so that they don't have to research a product, make a selection, learn to use it, etc.,The interface is very clean, well-designed and free from distractions. Recordings are of very high quality and can be stored on the server indefinitely. They can be easily accessed via a web link (and can now be password protected). Recordings can be exported in mobile-compatible format as an MP4. Meeting rooms persist from one login to another, so the host and the participants can always have a familiar interface to work with. It's easy to add polls and use them throughout a session. Because of the large user base, there are a number of add-ins you can use to enhance your webinars.,Recordings default to Flash which can't be viewed on many mobile devices. They offer the ability to export recordings as MP4s, but it would be nice if you could set this as the default. Some useful features are not provided with the hosted model, such as Adobe Presenter, which allows you to upload content directly from PowerPoint, preserving settings and fonts.,8,We turned what was formerly an annual mini-conference into a series of webinars, allowing us and our members to save on meeting and travel expenses. We have added value to our members' experience, because we can now offer many virtual opportunities year-round as opposed to only during live events throughout the year. The visual and interactive elements of a webinar make them more attractive as a learning experience than a simple teleconference. And because the webinars are recorded, members can view them at their leisure. We've been able to expand what we offer to our chapters in terms of support from the national office, and we've given them an additional means of delivering professional development opportunities to their local members.,,9,Professional services company,No,Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled,Problems with recordings done under the previous vendor were the only issue encountered.,8Adobe Connect for CollaborationWe used Adobe Connect company wide to bridge the communication gaps across our office and home users. Adobe Connect makes it easy to work on projects without being in the same office or state as your team members Adobe Connect is a great platform for dynamic client presentations,We had some connectivity issues with users in more rural areas. Adobe Connect made it easier for us to engage team members from across the country on projects. Adobe Connect was a great collaboration platform but we struggled to use it with robust software programs like AutoCAD,6Adobe Connect - Best in the BizWe use it to demo our financial products. Plus, I record sessions as a training resource to keep and review myself or to share with clients or colleagues. Most TR employees are using WebEx but I find it easier to use and start a meeting since the URL does not change. It allows me to do my job remotely w/o having to visit clients Face to Face.,Easy to launch a session. Easy to link my Meet Me tele conf to the room to record. Easy to share documents using File share.,Sometime the quality when sharing my screen resolution is too small or blurry. There seems to be some black space when I share so needs to be able to better maximize the screen to fit. Audio editing is not very useful. It needs to have better capabilities to trim audio and make it seemless to the listener.,7,Saved money on travel Able to train multiple people at once so saved time. Consistantcy. If I sent a client my URL he/she can use the same one next time. So, less confusion when sending the invite to the room. It is customizable; the screens can be moved around to fit your needs. Recording the session,Setting up the audio getting clients to do the add-in....it sometimes kicks them out and they have to relaunch the meeting. Sharing control of your screen.,No,7Thoughts on Adobe ConnectAdobe Connect is being used primarily for a few of our solutions across a handful of companies. Accounts are set-up and managed by Korn Ferry for these clients and URLS and dial-in information are provided so our clients can meet virtually with our internal team members (consultants). Generally used across our consulting, assessment, coaching services. However, the platform is used internally for as a training platform to show visual documents, records meetings and achieve better global audio lines of communication. Addresses the business need to be accessible by individuals around the globe, standard/general platform that is easily understood by users,Provides prompts on what to do - example: pop up box automatically to connect your audio automatically appears when joining Easy to enter the platform as guest. Other systems like Adobe are time intensive and confusing to use. Adobe is simple., straight forward, and troubleshooting issues is easy. Room layouts are easy to manage and can be customized to meet needs Like that I can upload documents to the site and easily use them Able to control permissions of other users such as host vs. participant permissions. Makes managing things for clients better as I can control layouts and details which reduced clients changing something incorrectly that result in me having to troubleshoot,The options for closing tabs. It seems that once a notes field is opened, it's always a drop down. I would like to know if there was a "close" option as I currently only use the "hid" option which renders any past notes (notes 1, notes 2, etc.) drop downs A prompt upon existing if the system should clear the notes or chat fields or leave for future use. Better audio bridges in Brazil for Adobe Have "My Audio Profile" information on the same page as the "My Meeting" rooms. Now I have to go to the audio profile to retrieve host/dial-in and URL International codes, etc. Would be nice to have in one place,9,Easy, efficient, smooth communication. Accuracy. Able to send Chat History for records Good customer service,,9

Adobe Connect provides everything I need from a collaboration tool. Once you've had high speed internet or HD television or driven a luxury car, it's very difficult to go back to what you were using before. That's how I feel about Adobe Connect, it's the luxury car with all of the bells and whistles and moving to another product that doesn't have all of the features I've become accustomed to would be extremely frustrating.

Adobe Connect has been instrumental in developing stronger connections in our classrooms (virtually and residentially), to our faculty across all campuses, and to all departments. It provides leadership the ability to share real-time information, documents, visions and plans and problem solve as a team. It allows all parties the opportunity to work together making connections in a virtual world.

I give it a 9 out of 10 because of the ease of use and multiple ways to engage your audience. I do not like the fact that when I am looking to include graphics and art to my presentations it take a lot of time to convert them over to object for display. The archive functionality and editing with recordings is a great feature as well.

I have for the most part been very pleased with Adobe Connect. It would be much more difficult to deliver our training on a different platform. Like most Adobe products, it has many advanced features, sets the bar high, and is easy to use.

I believe it to offer a wide all the features that an organization needs to track and manage in regards organizational training and education. It also has the right features that support instructional design and instructional strategies. Through good design, the rich interactive features (video/audio/chat) improve the student and employee learning experience considerably.

Given our recent success with Adobe Connect in deploying enterprise-wide training solutions and our subsequent investment in on-boarding designers and facilitators to deploy additional projects using it, I can see no reason we would not renew or change to another provider at this time. While Adobe Connect is a sophisticated solution, the learning curve is not nearly as steep comparable to other products, which has helped us quickly expand our use of it across the company.

Beyond all the aforementioned reasons, there's just no other product out there that stacks up against the mature AC solution. We have a fantastic relationship with our AC reseller, who also provides us a great telephony solution in the bundle. Beyond the features, the post-sale support can be a critical factor in successful enterprise-adoption; make sure that your reseller can provide formal AC training to your people, and has a help-desk team well-versed in the product.

We loved the product so much, we have purchased several licenses of our own to host on our own. This offered up the ability to let OUR clients enjoy the benefits of this platform and to continue to offer this service to them. The technology is easy to set up and I wouldn't go any other way.

The only reason I would see us renewing our contract is once again pricing, but also fear of switching. We cannot be certain that we won't encounter the same reliability, communication, and complexity issues we've experiences with the Adobe Connect software. I think this holds us back from switching, but ultimately, because of the vast and varied problems we've experienced with the platform, I do not believe we should or will renew our contract with Adobe Connect.

I'd keep using this product as long as I am able. It works nicely, and does the things I ask of it. When I or my end users have issues they tend to be easily addressed. And if I need support the premium upgrade is worth every penny. At the end of the day, its easier to administrate, easier to host meetings, and easier to attend a meeting then any other title I've worked with.

The longer you use Adobe Connect, the longer you are likely to use it. Because you can build more and more resources over time, creating rooms that you re-use, recorded content you can repurpose, and tools that form the basis of ever increasing productivity, the more you use Connect, the more productive you become. Unlike competing products where, with every meeting you essentially start over -- setting up your resources for each meeting -- in my Connect rooms, I have highly tuned tools to accomplish my knowledge transfer goals. When I want to conduct another session - I send a link out to the appropriate room and instantly we are all focusing on getting a job done together. This ability of Adobe Connect to make you productive at an ever quickening rate is a competitive advantage.

About Adobe Connect

Adobe Connect is a web conferencing platform that provides standard features like video, audio, screen-sharing, polls, chat, Q&A, and document transfers, as well as the ability for users to create presentations, online training materials, and learning modules.

The product is entirely Adobe Flash-based and has several add-ons for customizing its software to suit each users’ unique needs. Some extensions that are available include, but are not limited to, Closed Captioning support, Word Cloud (for visualizing live discussions), and MP3 player for adding music to users’ meeting rooms.

Users can create or style their own meeting room layouts which can be saved. They can also add multiple chat pods, polls, quizzes, simulations, breakout rooms, HD video, and games to make meetings and online conferencing more interactive. Additionally, Adobe Connect allows for presenters and hosts to utilize a “virtual backstage” to chat and collaborate outside of the main meeting or conference. It also allows for users to go into a “preparation mode” to make adjustments right before or during a session.

Pricing for Adobe Connect Meetings ranges from $50/mo up to $370/mo. Additional webinar capabilities through Adobe Connect Webinar ranges $140/mo to $580/mo, from a webinar with 100 participants to one with up to 1000 participants.
