It has a variety of usage, one can be really creative with Airtable especially since it is so quick to set up. We use it to manage data collected on educational institutions. Team task management is another usage; as well as personal to-do lists and budget management. It is great for any collaborative data management.

I work within a community of New York archivists and librarians. Airtable works well in the creation of metadata and very simple linked database for collections that need a less robust system. I think it's also really helpful in our work to toggle between data layouts and visual layouts of content.

Airtable combines foundational concepts of digital information management and retrieval (i.e.: the spreadsheet and relational database) to create something new – an easy-to-use tool that serves as a personal information organizer, but also provides the ability to create galleries for sharing different views of a collection.

It's well-suited to people who are somewhat comfortable setting up databases and thinking about how a system will work best. It would be less appropriate for someone who wanted a complete, out-of-the-box solution that they didn't need to configure.

Would absolutely recommend that others check it out for storing relational data. Easy to set up and use. For storing and analyzing quantitative data, it is very solid. Less suited at the present time for analyzing large passages of text and qualitative data.

I'm afraid I'm seriously addicted to Airtable... when I'm working with any kind of spreadsheet or database, the first thing I want to do is to import it into Airtable, now. The relational database formatting is just so much more intuitive and user-friendly.

However, since it does cost to use it, I'm going to have to be judicious about how much I force it on others.

Airtable is really great if you're looking for a place to share content in easy to read and easy to edit formats. Further functionalities could make it really great to use across the whole organisation. It may be easier for us to have multiple workplaces to act like folders with multiple bases instead of one main workplace.

Airtable is ideal for creating data structures to support most activities and linking data together to reduce replication. It sits nicely between a basic spreadsheet and high-end CRMs or bespoke database systems. If you're looking to quickly create data structures that are flexible and adaptable then Airtable is your ticket - you can get started (and sometimes finished) in minutes. If you're looking for a system to present data in a highly visual way (e.g. sales summaries with lots of charts etc.), then Airtable isn't quite there yet.

Airtable is perfect for:
- Project Management
- Team Accountability
- Managing complex, multi-departmental projects
- Airtable is by far the most user-friendly project management tool we have tried

Cons:
- The per user fee is a challenge. It can get very expensive.
- Editing documents and collaborating in real time using live chat or video conferencing could be better integrated
- No native app for Linux desktop users
- Logic formulas are in development, but it is not as user-friendly

Airtable is great for a team to come together and create content calendars of activities. Airtable makes it difficult for people with multiple accounts to work on the same project without having to pay for a few users.

I really enjoy working with Airtable! For a small organization, the flexibility of Airtable is perfect. Moreover, the base can grow at the same speed as your business.

If you are a big organization, this flexibility can make it complex to use Airtable correctly. Keep it small scale: let your employees play with Airtable and let them show you what they can do with it. If every individual and every department of your organization understand how powerful Airtable can be for them, then it is way simpler to use it on a larger scale.

Airtable is very useful if you work a lot with databases, and want to have more options than you have in Excel or Google Sheets. Airtable has some of the main options of those tools but offers a lot more possibilities to have data shared between databases, use text and images, and have different views on a database.

Keeping track of our programs and their status/progress, tracking our collaborations data, and using Airtable to organize our eLearning data are all really good sources. There are other instances where a coworker will ask "should this be an Airtable?" when in fact it may be better suited to a plain Excel document, or a task-tracking app (we use Asana), or even just a word document - one of these instances was when a colleague wanted to use Airtable to track a temporary list of user accounts, which was much easier done in Excel.

I think the opportunity to coordinate schedules, direct work flow, see calendars, and materials that are all a part of Airtable's best functionality. I am looking forward to using Airtable for future projects and in future industries. I think that Airtable can be directed by our Foundation's workflow and we don't have to hack or configure it in a different way.

It is really helpful when trying to maintain a set of data that is shared by a team and needs to updated safely by that team. The grid views particularly can operate in the well-understood paradigm of a spreadsheet without the difficulties of sharing and editing spreadsheets.

One will hit up against its limitations since it is not intended as a full development tool.
