Reviews
(76-100 of 162)Use of Lifesize in professional service firm
- Ease of use
- Simple interface
- High level of availability
- More controls for the moderator/lecturer
- Better user experience for those using browser client
- Ability for admin to see not just quantity, but who is in a virtual meeting room
Lifesize is used heavily in pockets of our organization with teams that are distributed. The IT team is a big user because we have teams in four offices and a number of remote employees. The Finance team is a user since they have teams in three locations. A few of our operations teams that are distributed use it as well.
The IT team is the heaviest user of Lifesize. The Infrastructure team has a Lifesize device that is always on in three locations. So if there is a situation or an outage, team members can walk to this device and begin talking to one another like they are meeting in the hallway to collaborate. The IT team also uses it for our All Hands meetings since we are so distributed and it is good to connect over video.
- Lifesize is very effective when you want to connect directly with another person over video. Unlike WebEx, you do not need to set up a WebEx conference. You can dial the person either through the device or via your Cloud account and start talking to them when they pick up.
- Lifesize is effective when you are having a staff meeting with individuals in different locations.
- If you have a large group of individuals dialing into a Lifesize meeting, you will not see all of them on the screen. This happens when we have an IT all-hands call where we have about forty people/locations dialing in. You will see about a dozen on the screen because the size of the video for each does not shrink to show all the individuals on the call.
- The user interface for the physical devices could be improved. It takes a while to get used to finding what you want.
Lifesize Cloud is good when you have an individual calling in for a meeting using the webcam on their laptop. If you are in a conference room with a group of people, it really helps to have a Lifesize device.
Lifesize, the best video conferencing solution!
- Very easy to use, install & configure
- Exceptional audio & video quality
- Screen sharing works perfectly
- Poor plugin support
- Too many updates
- GUI needs a bit of improvement
technical analise
- The interconnection to command platforms namely Crestron
- Ease of use even for those who have never used it before
- Cloud solution
- Less restrictive licensing
A solid video conferencing system
- The quality of the video is generally very high.
- It is generally pretty easy to set up conferences.
- LifeSize has gone through a lot of changes and updates over the last coupe of years.
- Cloud seems to have a lot of issues.
- Sometimes it feels like the step to download to connect is lengthy.
- I'm not always happy with how it selects feeds to be the main feed.
Video conferencing for pros
- Helps to let people stay focused in a meeting
- Helps with better communication as it transports more than just the voice
- Helps people from different offices to be closer together
- Presentation mode - include audio
- More stability of the connection. It has improved lately, but [there are] still issues
- Easier presentation mode and more input sockets, not only dvi
Lifesize is the RightSize.
- High quality video.
- Relatively simple setup and administration.
- Very cost effective.
- Onscreen menus could use a rework. Sometimes hard to find what you need.
High-end system for high-end needs
- High quality video stream - great picture quality at low bandwidth
- Mixed presentation and video simultaneous - see the presentation, see who's presenting
- Easy setup and installation
- Proprietary equipment - you have to buy their gear to use their service
- Pricey for initial setup and installation
- Limited software controls during meetings, controlling the equipment is disruptive to the event
Full size result with Lifesize
- Clear uninterrupted video conferencing.
- Chat and presentation sharing.
- An easy to use interface.
- Managing the users, an admin cannot edit one's name if the name is missing.
- Setting or defaulting to a structure for the directory, Fname or LName right now it is anything goes, and the directory is live so one can put in a nick name that could be vulgar.
- Updates, it would be nice to push these without interaction.
- Allowing an install setup for Lifesize cloud to be on at startup and logged in.
Lifesize review June 2017
- Picture and sound quality is really good.
- Compatibility is good with other video conferencing systems.
- Call recording is easy to use and reliable.
- The admin settings aren't very easy to find (you have to go in via the desktop app, no direct access via the website).
- The "do not disturb" function should be more obvious - we do forget sometimes.
Lifesize - changed how we communicate internally and externally
- Ease of use
- Great video/audio quality
- Inexpensive compared to conventional on-premise solutions
- Webconferencing feature set
Easy-to-use video conferencing
- Icon units are easy-to-use - The Lifesize Icon systems are simple to navigate, specifically when the HD phone is being used. This means placing calls, accepting calls and even recording can be done by the touch of a button.
- Lifesize Cloud interoperability means there are so many options to join a call. Video users can join via a professional unit, free iOS/Android application, Skype for Business client or free desktop application. Telephone users can join from a choice of free global numbers, so there really is no exuse!
- There isn't a massive requirement for it now, but the option for ISDN dial-in could be advantageous.
- The Lifesize Icon camera (10x) could improve in image quality and certainly improve how it looks.
Changing the way you collaborate with your fellow employees effectively.
- Lifesize is easy to use, install and manage.
- The fact that any user can share their screen makes it a useful tool for sharing information, technical support, and training.
- The meeting rooms that can be set up by any user give us a great tool for seminars and meetings.
- The instant messaging application also helps with quick communication.
- A file sharing, transferring application would be nice.
- Allow a remote user to control the screen when sharing.
- A tool that shows how much bandwidth is being used by the application all the time while in use [would be great].
Lifesize review from experience at Emerson College
- We used a laptop to host a Lifesize Cloud session at a remote location, the participants were able to join with ease on their laptops.
- Creating cloud rooms and dial-in instructions are really simple.
- In my experience the connection is steady and video quality is better than expected.
- The in-room control unit can be hard to navigate with so many detailed menus.
- Having to whitelist certain IP addresses on a regular basis can be annoying.
LifeSize Video Conference - En Experience you want forget
- The product is very intuitive.
- Probably one of the best speakerphones on the market.
- Excellent audio and video quality even in small bandwidth areas.
- I would like to see better interoperability with other systems.
Lifesize, connecting your worldwide employees.
- I have used Polycom, and I have used Cisco video conferencing units, I have found that life size is the most user friendly to use.
- Lifesize also has the lifesize app, which allows me to connect to a video conference using my computer.
- Lifesize might benefit from creating a web video conference room like WebEx or Zoom.
Lifesize Review
- Outstanding video clarity - Focusing on video audio sync.
- It is very easy to use and manage. When a meeting needs to be created it takes me no more than 30 seconds to set up.
- Technical support has been good, and access to help documents and topics have been easy to find and understand.
- I would like to see a collaboration feature added. currently it is easy to present anything you would like from your screen to the rest of the room but currently it allows for no collaboration. A pass the mic feature so to speak. The ability for someone else in the meeting to be able to make changes or point to things in the current shared presentation.
- The desktop application seems heavy and process intensive at times. I often need to close the application to improve PC function.
- Recently the link structure changed for joining conference calls and we were not notified. This cause a few meeting to start out of schedule. You know what they say time is money. I have sense sent out new requests with updated links but would like to be notified more promptly if the platform changes.
Lifesize Video Conferencing
- A strong point is communication with skype for business that through Lifesize works perfectly.
- I hope the Icon 450 and Icon 800 will be homologated to Brazil soon.
- The ease of use and deployment for the client is invaluable, especially when used through the "Call Me" page. All the information needed to connect seamlessly is located on an easy to read and understand page with multiple options.
- Meeting/Rooms are easy to create and manage. Having multiple meeting going on at once has become a standard for us and it's because it is so easy to monitor and execute.
- This might be small, but having the ability to place our logo as an image file as the default background on each Icon unit is something that solidifies our name with video conferencing. It's something we want our clients to see and remember.
- Dialing out to ISP and older video conference units like the Polycom systems from the early 2000s that we still run into everywhere. It is next to impossible to connect to a prison system (yes, prison) or older units in Regus locations.
- Moderator control might be something useful. As in a 'blind' moderator that can enter the meeting to check on the connection but without abrasively popping in interrupting the meeting.
- A useful feature might be when someone disables their camera in a connection of 3 or more parites, the view should default to just showing the images of the reaming parties with active cameras. As it stands, if user 3 turns off their camera, user 1 and 2 see a black screen shared on the monitor. If it could just default to viewing just the active screens that would be incredibly useful.
LifeSize Video Conferencing Review
- Easy to use
- Fast
- Economical
- Cameras could have built in mic arrays
- Registering the cameras should be easier and require no help from the remote side
Overnight Business Trips Costs Time and Money, Solution: Lifesize Video Conference Systems
While reviewing video conferencing systems, we wanted to accomplish the following objectives:
- Put us in direct connection with our branch office over two hours away saving on travel expenses, time, and mileage.
- Achieve a more personal experience above and beyond a conference call.
- Bring our growing company together, Not only the management level, but also departmental and the company as a whole.
We have since expanded to four locations and multiple remote offices, with the two newest locations residing over three hours away. Lifesize has allowed us to leverage our investment in this great technology to bring all four branches together with a simple button push, real time, full HD, and seamless.
Some innovative ways we use the Lifesize Video Conference System include:
- Remote training for new employees including: human resources, information technology support, interdepartmental training, and application training
- Broadcasting vendor training where the vendor is physically in one location and broadcast down to the other locations and remote users
- Departmental and project management group meetings spanning all locations, including remote user input while travelling allowing us to break down the four walls of the office and operate globally when needed
- Worksite video conference using a mobile device to stream video back to our engineers and technicians in our office for real time problem resolution
- Instant on connectivity: Depending on connection method it is literally two to three button pushes on a touch screen and you are live in a conference.
- No PC required: Lifesize requires no PC to operate and is completely self sufficient. If you wish to display content for the meeting, you would need a device to broadcast. We have used a PC, Mac, Laptop, Google chromecast, and een ipads/tablets to display content to meeting for example.
- One vendor for all components: Lifesize is a package deal. When we made the initial investment, we have not had to purchase any additional hardware to make the system work. With the exception of the display (TV, Projector), the camera, phone, and console are all manufactured by Lifesize versus the "build your own" video conference system of various components from different manufacturers.
- Allow easier management of appointment setting, scheduling the device, and users right from the phone.
- Through the use of an external computer, allow the ability to utilize the camera for other video conference systems like GoToMeeting, Skype, WebEx, and others. Many times when meeting requests are sent to us, they require us to use their software and we aren't able to broadcast video since the camera isn't available
- Make a wireless version of the phone: Having that usb cord run across the floor is a challenge, especially in a packed room. Wireless with a simple power plug would be ideal. Make it retroactive as well to allow us to use existing hardware wirelessly with a plug-in module.
Lifesize is a top tier video conferencing system, so the price is a barrier to entry for most. However, for any company with multiple locations this is a must have.
For a smaller or single location business, this is not the system for you. Go with over the counter external camera, microphone, and software.
Lifesize Video Conferencing works with limitations
INTERNAL: Room based video conferencing; Desktops to Desktops; Mobile to Mobile; Hybrid Any to Any
EXTERNAL: Connecting external parties to any of the 4 internal use cases via multiple video consumer or commercial grade conferencing software platforms (e.g. Google Hangouts, Skype, Etc) in a HIPAA compliant manner.
This effort had the following key objectives:Deliver new communications features like Telemedicine features to Spectrum programs.
Enhance distributed team collaboration.
Improve internal meeting productivity.
Reduce ongoing travel requirements and costs.
- Integration with Outlook for setting up Video conferencing sessions.
- Lifesize client software is easy to use.
- Process for registering new users is simple.
- The management reports are insufficient.
- The process of setting up our original administrator account took weeks and required escalation to several people until it actually worked.
- Recording of conferences is not included in annual fee and is very expensive.
- The maximum speed for screen sharing materials (i.e. PowerPoint, video clips, etc) is very slow.
- Incompatibility of the Video Conferencing service with older LS Room conferencing equipment is limited. You are forced to buy new equipment in many cases.
- Minimal training and follow through to assist with internal user adoption.
- Audio quality is inconsistent.
1. Room based video conferencing – between key locations equipped with Lifesize equipment from designated conference rooms
3. Mobile to Mobile – Video conferencing connecting employees via Smartphones, Laptops and or Tablets
4. Hybrid Any to Any – Video conferencing connecting any combination room based Lifesize systems with stationary Desktops, and or mobile devices (e.g. smartphones, laptops, tablets, Etc)
Less Appropriate:
Just love it!
- Stable firmware.
- Ease of Use.
- Better functionality with more web browsers.
- Reduce the cost of support contracts.
Lifesize Video Conferencing in Law Enforcement
- The biggest selling point for us was ease of use. The everyday user in our organization is not technical staff. We needed something that users could adopt quickly and easily with minimal training.
- The systems are easy to set up. Aside from having to navigate our own network quirks, the systems are very easy to set up and get paired on the cloud.
- Compared to other full systems, we think the price point is pretty manageable. At first Lifesize was making their Cloud system cost prohibitive but they seem to have reeled it in a bit.
- Their customer support has always been excellent. They are willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have a positive experience with their product.
- Most of the issues we have experienced have been because of our own network problems however we have had some random connectivity issues not related to our network. They are always resolved eventually.
- Lifesize used to offer a non cloud based option for video conferencing that, for us, would have been a better option.
- Even though their support is good, the assistance you get on initial setup is practically nil. They have a nice thick technical manual but we still floundered a bit getting the setting just right.
Lifesize Video Conferencing Review
- Interviewing new hires
- Cuts down travel for meetings
- Able to get more feedback from meetings
- Drops calls
- Settings sometimes have to be reset
- Video freezes at times
The bad - we try to use Lifesize to hold a company meeting (in a big hall) but the camera just could handle the lighting.
