We use Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to backup emails on the Cloud. We needed a solution for backups of e-mail and Teams chat and Veeam is the one that we are familiar with and chose to use. The software was easy to setup and backups was easy to restore as well. Definitely recommend.
  • Easy Backups
  • Easy Restores
  • Interface is easy to use
  • Let users know that Teams backup is disabled beginning of the install.
If you need to backup emails on the Cloud than recommend Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. Backups are important. If you have on premise email I suggest looking at the other Veeam products to back up your on premise e-mails. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is just for the Cloud.

We use Veeam Backup and Replication for our critical servers and Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 for Teams and Outlook. Both products give us the ability to pull data whether it's from a database or files from someone's e-mail that's in litigation, etc.. The number one business problem addressed is having the ability to retrieve data.
  • Notifications and Alerting
  • Support is one of the best around
  • The product just works every time
  • Being able to modify who gets alerts. I have different jobs setup and I don't need everyone getting alerts that don't pertain to them.
  • Better support with the SQL plugin TOOL. Seems to need more documentation on it
  • Being able to join a call rather then emailing back and forth
I think Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is well-suited if you utilize Sharepoint, teams, and Outlook. THe reason being is that you have an opportunity to create back jobs to store your data according to retention policies set by your company. We have used it to pull old user emails or team chats for litigation reasons.

We use it to backup all of our 150 user's mailboxes to an on prem server. We are expanding it this year to include the user's One Drive files.
  • Once configured, I think it is easy to add and remove mailboxes that are backed.
  • Easy to restore individual folders, contacts or calendars .
  • Allows for all the backups to be store on-prem to save costs of storing in Azure.
  • Some of the menus could be updated and made more intuitive.
We were paying over $2k a month to store our email backups in Azure. We moved the backups to a on-prem Veeam Proxy server with some extra drives and invest the $2k in other services like a faster internet connection.

In my opinion, it is very simple to use. We are not backing up the entire organization, only "important" user with critical company data. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 was very easy to setup and it is very useful to us.
  • Easy Setup
  • User Friendly
  • Trustworthy
  • Be able to backup Sharepoint sites without needing a license for every user who has access to the site
  • Be able to backup Teams teams without needing a license for every user who is part of the team
It is cheap, so I think it is very suited for any company size.

We backup our whole Office 365 estate, which includes Exchange, Sharepoint/One Drive. It has allowed us to easily recover emails that have been lost by end-users. Our biggest concern before using Veeam for Office 365 was that we were not protected in the event of some data loss. With this solution, we have peace of mind that in case of a catastrophic event we would be able to recover everything.
  • Simple setup
  • Easy to restore files
  • Quick at backing up
  • Be able to exclude non licensed Office 365 accounts
Using Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365, we've had many occasions were someone has deleted emails or files on Sharepoint and we have been easily been able to recover the file before it was deleted or even changed within minutes not hours. This has allowed people to get back to work quicker.

We use Veeam for all our other backup needs and this product complements that offering very well and gives a simple feel with its ease of use.

The platform helps each team to backup Microsoft 365 data from any location. Due to frequent careless mistakes done by most employees Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 has helped us to recover data that has been deleted accidentally. It provides secure data storage tools that cannot be compromised by cyber attackers. Restoring data is simple and securely from this product within the enterprise environment.
  • Secure data storage tools.
  • Safeguarding data from external attacks.
  • Quick recovery of lost information.
  • The able features have been operation effectively.
  • I have not observed downtime performance since we deployed it.
This is the most advanced product for backing Microsoft 365 data from my experience. It is easy to deploy and learn how it works in an organization. The proactive customer support team responds quickly to customer requests. It is efficiently suited in data protection for any industrial purpose. Employees operating from remote areas can easily access data updates from our website. The automatic data backup has saved the organization from losing critical information.

We use Veeam backup for Microsoft 365 to backup our user mailboxes, onedrive and sharepoint sites. We also use a sharepoint template site which we backup and then can restore as a new site.
  • Backup
  • Restore
  • Connection to Microsoft 365
  • Need to provide your own storage
  • No cloud version / local installation
Veeam is a perfectly valid option to backup your user mailboxes, shared mailboxes, onedrive data and sharepoints sites/data.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 has helped us solve our problems of having backups for 365 data. This is critical to have Exchange email, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint content backed up and easily restored. We have transitioned some files from on-premises file servers to shares in the 365 enviroment. The product was easy implement and use. It has been very useful for us and we are glad we made the purchase of the subscription.
  • Exchange Backup
  • Teams Backup
  • SharePoint Backup
  • The community edition offers 10 users for free - these are removed when a subscription is purchased. It would be nice to see subscriptions added on top of the ten free licenses. We used the community edition to trial the software.
Backing up all Microsoft user data.

I use it to backup all users item on Office 365. it is very useful both for recovering any type of element that has been deleted by users (emails, calendars, contacts, etc.) and as protection against any malicious events. Since Microsoft doesn't provide any kind of backup, this was the best solution
  • BAckup any Office 365 item
  • Restore granular items
  • keep trace of what's changed
  • Could improve compression or dedupe
  • could improve indexing
  • could integrate with other Veeam consoles
In smaller companies it is highly appreciated because it is free for up to 10 Office365 users. Larger companies and with more restrictive security policies it is almost mandatory to meet such policies. I don't think there is a less appropriate scenario as it is a tool that works very well

We use Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 to backup and safeguard our Office 365 email and files. All of our Office 365 email accounts and OneDrive files are being backed up to our local Storage Area Network devices. Since we are a medical practice, email and file security are very important and Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 gives us the security we need to protect our information.
  • Backs up Office 365 email accounts.
  • Has multiple retention points to prevent accidental data loss.
  • Nothing major. Cosmetic improvements, and maybe a little more control and options in the setup screens.
Without a doubt, my favorite backup solution for Office 365. Very simple to set up, use and maintain, and the pricing is very favorable. Keeping our emails secure from data loss, accidental or otherwise, is very critical to us as a medical practice. Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 gives us that protection.

We use Veeam Backup for M365 to make sure we have our OneDrive folders backed up and also critical information that is stored in our Team sites sharepoint with reliable backup and easy recovery. Also to make sure public folders are backed up, which other backup platforms didn't offer us when we started using Veeam.
  • Backup teams data
  • Provides easy cloud backup as default
  • Has great support articles when you get stuck
  • Backup public folders isn't too intuitive
  • Doesn't provide great backup feedback for when there is an error in the backup
  • Doesn't give an option to backup to local NAS if that is needed
It's just a great all round backup tool which you can easily customise for your needs. The licensing model is flexible so you can minimise your costs if needed.

We initally used Veeam for Microsoft 365 to back up our mailboxes, Onedrive, and Sharepoint. it allowed us to restore any of thise services in am acceptible timeframe. It also filled the need for an offsite, cross region backup solution.
  • Consistent backups
  • No fuss restores
  • Reliable restores
  • Too expensive for what it does
  • Complicated setup if you plan to create cross region / cross platform sync
  • There's no way to directly archive to S3, if you're doing cross platform redundancy
We used Veeam for MS365 to back up our mailboxes, Onedrive, and Sharepoint. Although it does the job well, there are simpler (and cheaper) solutions. We also synced our backups to an instance in AWS. One of my problems is that there isnt a direct "archive from an instance to am S3 bucket. You need to get creative in order to move the nackup from the instance to a bucket.

We use Veeam for O365 to back up our 365 mailboxes both locally and in immutable storage online. We use it for archival purposes and quick restorations. We have been using it for about 2 years and have had no issues setting it up or connecting it with an Azure account.
  • Backs up mailboxes quickly
  • Backs up SharePoint and other 365 data reliably
  • Easy to restore and set up
  • Would like more options for backups
  • Would like to be able to back up to more types of storage
  • Would like job logs to be easier to look at
Veeam for O365 is good for hybrid environments or strictly cloud-based deployments using Azure AD and Exchange Online. It has the ability to back up mailboxes, OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint data at a reasonable price. It's easy to understand and administer, as well.

I use Veeam Backup for MS365 to backup three separate office tenants. We backup email, one drive, teams, and SharePoint data.
  • Backup and restore of emails.
  • Backup and restore of OneDrive.
  • Backup and restore of Teams.
  • Connecting to storage could be easier, but it's not difficult.
Installing and configuring Veeam to back up our three 0365 tenants was simple and straightforward. It's great that it supports multiple tenants.

We currently backup emails and One Drive for around 70 users, and like having a local copy of backups so that they can be restored at a moments notice if needed. After moving from local Exchange and file servers to having it all hosted in the cloud we need a solution that made sure we had a copy of our data if the need ever arose.
  • Local Backups of Cloud information
  • Ease of Use
  • Ability to restore only the items needed.
  • Ability to more easily configure local backups.
We have been very happy with adding Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to our list of things that we are able to use to make our jobs easier.

We are required to retain former users' data for two years. Manually pulling this data from Exchange Online and the OneDrive admin portal is time consuming and error-prone (files often corrupted or incomplete). Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 enabled us to automate the process of having user data backed up on premise and trivial to export these files to a local archive. This was our main purchase decision point. In addition, we now have a backup of users O365 contents in case of misuse or compromised account (MFA isn't bulletproof). When we started backing this up, we found we have 120% more data in O365 than we thought.
  • simplifies the archiving process of exemployees
  • allows us to restore data deleted by a user 31 days ago
  • We still found that some archived data was corrupted, but about 5% of the previous level. It would be nice if the data integrity was checked (or checked better).
If you have significant Office 365 data, I recommend backing it up. We thought we had significant usage, but our O365 data was more than double our anticipated use. Having it backed up gave us peace of mind in case of user error, and it also gives us a local copy of this data in case of extended internet or Office 365 outage.

We use the product to backup our Microsoft 365 tenant that consists of user mailbox, Teams, and Sharepoint data.
  • Backups are easy to create.
  • Restoring from backup is intuitive.
  • Once the initial backup is complete, it only takes a few minutes to incrementally backup.
  • Our biggest issues is that it won't back up public folders. My understanding is that they're working to fix this, but it is currently not working.
Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is easy to implement and maintain. It runs flawlessly and has never caused an issue, or missed a scheduled backup. Restoring mail and files is very easy and smooth. Unfortunately, it can't back up public folders, which is something we still use for shared address books and calendars. I'm hopeful they will improve on this soon.

  • Item Level Restore

While Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 does have its retention policies and recycle bin to recover deleted items it wasn't sufficient for our needs. We use Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to back up user mailboxes and Teams in Microsoft 365. Backups are stored for compliance and archive purposes should we need to go back to a point in time.
  • Easy to setup
  • Easy to maintain
  • Its reliable
  • Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 isn't 'multi geo' aware - this means we have to manually select resources to back up depending on their geo-location.
  • Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 doesn't backup Private Channels users create in a Team - there are workarounds for this but it would be nice if this just worked.
I would recommend Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 where you need to protect against data corruption, ransomware, or where there is a requirement to maintain backups for compliance or archive purposes. Microsoft 365 does offer retention policies to recover deleted items out of the box, if this is all you need you probably don't need Veeam.

We have been unable to find a native backup solution that was seamless in its integration with cloud storage. Veeam has proven invaluable with highly useful features such as SOBR tearing and incremental breakdowns of backup for space efficiency. I would highly recommend the service as it has proven to be helpful, reliable, and frankly easy to use.
  • Redundacy
  • Replication
  • SOBR Tiering/Offsite Replication
  • Version Management
  • UI Is Clunky
  • Some Processes Unintuitive
Disaster recovery seems to be the main shining point of the Veeam offering, as BMR was always the first service offered in our testing. We have found the backup repository style system to be better than the old package style system.
