Overall Satisfaction with Appian

The Appian service people have always gotten to the bottom of any issues I’ve had rapidly and professionally.
It’s relatively easy to configure custom applications out of the box. Accessibility of the cloud environments is a huge plus with customers being located in various locations.
My organization is using Appian across our entire population to enhance daily processes and to create new processes that facilitate the sharing of common information.

Pros

  • Appian allows us to rapidly configure a process for a new business user sharing information previously developed.
  • Appian allows us to build new processes rapidly, following requests from business owners.
  • Appian allows us to custom tailor processes for business customers who have seen functionality in other Appian processes.

Cons

  • I miss the ability to designate items, particularly rules, as Favorites, and return to them quickly.
  • I have seen Appian cut losses in time and resources attributed to mistakes in following procedures.
  • When Appian processes are created from well-defined requirements, the processes can save an organization much due to better throughput.
  • If Appian processes are constructed from requirements that are not well thought out, the processes can be resource consuming.
Appian logic is much more highly developed and more intuitive.
I’ve recommended it to HR departments for onboarding processes, where it works well.
I’ve seen it implemented as the master control for manipulation of huge amounts of data, where it can be difficult to configure.
