Overall Satisfaction with Authorize.net

We implement Authorize.net as a payment gateway in a variety of situations, but primarily for ecommerce sites. I work with it primarily in an implementation, customization, and troubleshooting capacity. Authorize.net provides a secure and lower-risk method of collecting payment information online. Using Authorize.net can reduce PCI compliancy concerns for websites and businesses, and provide a cost-effective means of secure payment processing.
  • Security
  • Customer Service
  • Variety of Implementation methods, SDKs and APIs
  • Testing Methodology
  • User Interface
  • Documentation
  • Plug and play solutions
  • Higher efficiency of payment implementations
  • Higher security of payment collection options
  • PayPal Payments, Stripe and Braintree
Authorize.net is often on the more complex end to implement (at least for custom implementations). Stripe and Braintree are somewhat more developer-friendly and also have more intuitive user interfaces (for management and day-to-day use).

Some other services also have better price points - be sure to shop around.

But, it has a longer history than some services and high support among third-party software, plugins and other solutions.
1&1, Beanstalk, Bitbucket, Bluehost, CDW, CentOS, Cisco ASA, CloudFlare, Cloudflare Content Delivery Network, DigitalOcean, DreamHost, GitHub, GoDaddy, Google Analytics, HostGator, Joomla!, LastPass, Liquid-Web, Magento Community Edition, Malwarebytes, MySQL, Network Solutions, New Relic APM, SiteGround Web Hosting, Slack, Ubuntu Linux, VMware ESXi, Vagrant, Oracle VM VirtualBox, WooCommerce, WordPress, Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugins, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon Web Services
If there is a third-party plugin or ready solution available, then typically integrating Authorize.net is very easy with that. In a more unique situation, a programmer might be needed. If collecting and/or saving payment, customer, and billing information, Authorize.net will likely fit well - possibly with some add-ons (such as CIM). Storing additional information may or may not be supported.
