Overall Satisfaction with Deputy
As a hospital gift shop, we were doing our schedules manually on an Excel spreadsheet. Very tedious and time-consuming! I found Deputy to be very user-friendly and very easy to set up. I love the Newsfeed feature so I can send messages to my staff. I also love the copy feature which allows me to copy the schedule to the next week, then make a few changes. Creating schedules now takes about a quarter of the time it used to! Time = $$. My staff loves it because they have their schedule on their phone! Because our hospital has Kronos for all employees, we are unable to use the clock in features, but there are so many other things that I am slowly learning about that I know will be valuable in the future.
Pros
- Copy from one week to the other.
- Add/remove employees.
- Allow me to see the scheduled hours by employee.
- Won't allow me to schedule someone who is on leave.
- Notifies me when I've scheduled someone who is unavailable or duplicated.
- Allows me to add wage information to calculate my staffing costs per week.
Cons
- While there is a place to note that it is a holiday on the scheduling page, it does not show on the employee's schedule or on the printed schedule. I'd like to be able to note when it's a holiday, or a big sale, or inventory, or something else going on and have it print out on the order copy form them to see. Currently, I print a copy, make notes, then print it to post in the stores.
- Probably saved about 5 hours per week doing manual schedules.
