Great Cloud-Based Phone Solution
Overall Satisfaction with GoTo Connect
Previously, I had an aging Cisco SIP solution. There were times when I had hardware failures. My users were without service until the repair part(s) arrived the next day. With GoTo Connect, I have zero issues with hardware. The GoTo Connect team takes care of hard repairs and upgrades and I enjoy a solid cloud-based phone system. When I have users traveling, the mobile app allows the remote users to make and receive calls just like they were in the office. Meetings are a breeze as well. I have dedicated numbers for conference calling.
Pros
- Up time
- Feature rich like my old phone system
- Highly portable for on the go users
- Responsive customer service to help with any issues
Cons
- I am not as impressed with Dial Plan GUI
- Accounting has to wait a few days for the billing PDF to be ready
- Moves-Adds-Changes could be more intuitive
- Fast setup, avoiding lengthy downtime when previous system failed
- Features were similar to previous system so training was minimal
- Blocking of outgoing toll numbers was a bonus
My administrative experience has been extremely positive. I am able to add custom music-on-hold, set business hours, and enter organizational holidays. The cloud based phone system does the rest. Even when a natural disaster knocked out power for several days, my users were able to function with their mobile phone apps.
Cisco has long been a leader in most aspects of networking. IP based phones are no exception. With many Cisco products, there is a higher level of training needed. In addition to the training, there is normally an enterprise price tag associated with Cisco's robust product lines. In my case, my small organization did not have the budget for their solution.
