Overall Satisfaction with Kronos Workforce Ready

My experience is using Kronos for employees, managers, HR, time and labor, and Payroll. Real-time reporting, time and labor are critical to our success. Kronos Workforce Ready is able to provide real-time information that makes a big difference to us!
  • Reporting: Real-time reports are excellent! It takes a while to set up reporting with filters and limits that I want, but it's worth the time to set it up.
  • Time and Labor: timekeeping and scheduling are easy in the Kronos WFR system
  • The dashboard makes a huge difference to our managers.
  • Implementing is hard. The classes Kronos offers do not prepare you for all that needs to be done. And training documentation is a nightmare.
  • Ongoing updates. The system is updated constantly and as an Admin user, I should know that those updates are coming, how they'll impact me, my organization, and my users. I never know when an update is coming.
  • Training.
  • Cheaper system, but requires more training, more knowledgeable IT staff, and more knowledgeable admins
  • Helps with OT spend
  • Importing the previous payroll and matching it to Kronos calculations was a nightmare
Long term cost. In the long term, Kronos Workforce Ready might save us money, in the very long term. The costs getting started between implementation costs, staff time investment, staff irritation (employees, managers, HR, Payroll), training costs (at all levels), learning curves, delays in implementation, and everything else, it will be a while before we realize any cost savings.
Kronos WFR would be an asset in a manufacturing environment or in other environments where scheduling is strict. Otherwise, at least with scheduling and timesheets, expect to offer training, a lot of training, to managers and employees. Implementing will probably take twice as long as you expect (everyone I've talked to has said this) because they don't make it a point to truly understand what your organization needs. They don't give you options on how to set your organization up for long term success with the product.
