Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Marketo is being used by our marketing and sales departments. It allows our organization to better track marketing initiatives and integrate new leads and results into Salesforce, providing better visibility for our entire team.
  • Tight Salesforce integration.
  • Support.
  • Level of granularity that things can be tracked.
  • Wish it had project management capabilities integrated into the system so it was a one stop shop for all information about our marketing initiatives.
  • Wish the calendar feature was more comprehensive.
  • Some features are not all that intuitive.
  • Definitely fast lead conversion - leads can be contacted almost immediately since they go straight into Salesforce and our solutions consultant team receives a notification to contact them.
  • Sales has the ability to mass send a personalized email to their leads with Sales Insight (which they love) and see the results (opens, clicks, etc.).
  • Better ability to track the performance of our marketing initiatives and more visibility into the sales funnel.
Definitely best value (features compared to price). There are cheaper solutions on the market (Hubspot, Pardot) but they don't come close to stacking up to what Marketo offers. Hubspot and Pardot were incredibly basic solutions (think a beefed up MailChimp), but I would not call them marketing automation platforms. Eloqua was most similar to Marketo and did have a few extra features that I liked, but the price was almost double what Marketo costs annually. This was the second time that I have vetted all marketing automation platforms on the market, and Marketo was a clear winner each time. Having been through two Marketo implementations (two different companies), I definitely recommend this product.
Well suited for:
  • Those that want/have a metric-driven marketing department and want to thoroughly track ROI for initiatives
  • Tech savvy individuals
Less appropriate for:
  • someone only wanting to do basic email sends
  • someone that is not tech savvy
