Overall Satisfaction with Optimizely Web Experimentation

As an agency we service many clients with the Optimizely tech, I personally help them establish the tech and support their everyday optimization needs to ensure success of their optimization programme.
  • Strong Reporting
  • Multi account / Multi environments / advanced settings
  • Javascript injection at various levels
  • You rarely find yourself limited in your everyday optimization
  • UI sometimes slow
  • WYSIWYG can be clunky
  • So many ways to do things that it's sometimes hard to know what is the "right way"
  • Might be a bit offputting for non-technical people
  • Money saved not investing in feature/design initiatives showing insignificant effect
  • Increased conversions/revenue from implementing successful experiments
  • Increase in Leads / Sales / AOV for our clients etc..
  • Media efficiency
Pretty scalable yet I haven't worked a lot with the wider suite
When working at Canon we used Optimizely with the personalization engine connected with Tealium audience stream which was a great combo to target audiences real-time and enable personalization on user-behaviour.
We also used the recommendation engine which when correctly setup (tagging the right data points throughout the experience) can prove to be a strong one.
Stronger audiences, expanding the realm of what's possible when it comes to personalizing the user experience.
The segmentation allows for understanding the performance of campaigns for specific device or channels which can lead to interesting personalization and richer understanding of the performance of tests The Goal tracking helps capture more behaviour data on the variants we deliver the 3rd party integrations help carry over test data to other qual & quant platform for richer analysis & next steps
> Adobe's pretty cool for its recomentation / AI / ML engine > VWO's wysiwyg is pretty solid and the heatmapping is nice > abtasty's consent features are pretty cool to launch patch and AB Test Consent Rate > Monetate & Dynamic Yield's pre-built personalization features help non-devs deliver solid personalization campaigns > DY's user profiling is pretty solid with Affinity-profile built as user explore the site > WebtrendsOptimize is very customizable and the support team very proactive
