Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server
We are using the Parallels Remote Application Server to distribute an application that was decades old and we contribute to maintaining the application cause of the legacy nature. The Parallels Remote Application Server helps in situations where end-user support requirements are critical to the IT organization. We see the value of having ease of access to end users and applications at the same time
- Application distribution
- Support
- Ease of access
- Reporting
- Integration with AD groups
- User level permission setup
- Having to invest less in VMs
- Helped us come out of the Citrix server hold
- Easy migration
The cost of the two products is significantly different. Though Citrix has many advantages and features, the cost was a primary factor that helped us make that choice.
Ease setup process up front the windows based applications were available to Mac users the platform independence helped us reduce the cost
Platform independence: Software that can run on a variety of hardware platforms or software architectures was a primary use. Platform-independent software can be used in many different environments, requiring less planning and translation across an enterprise like us and we have benefitted the most in this situation
Since we are more of a cloud-based organization, the scope for us is ver limited to using VMware or HyperV. We have moved away from Citrix a long ago so that we will be free from any dependency on platforms like them
We have used multi-factor authentication to ensure the security of the application and data and Parallels Remote Application Server architecture is spot on with those requirements the options we had with multi-factor authentication methods were limited but they served their purpose. But that’s an area where there could be improvements in the future

No. The cost was another factor because of which we do not opt for it. Please note that the support model is not a great fit especially we look at it as a cost and we don’t get the benefit of paying for it
