Robust but easy-to-use for fast growing businesses
Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
I work as the HR Manager for a Roofing & Exterior Restoration company formed towards the end of 2020. We are still a relatively new business but are growing so rapidly, we have doubled our headcount in the last 6 months alone. Needless to say, we needed a scalable and intuitive HRIS product that helps us become and stay compliant as we hit growth milestones.
Paylocity has not only helped us digitalize and streamline our hiring process, it has been a huge relief when it comes to payroll processing, especially since we have so many commission-based employees. Miss someone on payroll? It is SUPER easy to create a new batch and run a one-off payroll. Customer service has also been easy to reach for those moments where I get stuck.

Pros
- Payroll Processing
- Customer Support
- Integrations with Benefits & 401k Provider
Cons
- Mobile app is lackluster and doesn't allow employees to add/update direct deposit or change tax setup
- Reporting section is not as intuitive as competitors
- Less time spent tracking down signed policies or completing onboarding steps
- Less administration time spent writing manual checks
We just started using Paylocity but from what I see so far, the onboarding feature has automated so many tasks for me and has relieved the "hunt them down" modality that many HR leaders are faced with. With onboarding, I get more time in my day to focus on the big stuff.
We haven't had a chance to utilize this feature yet, but I am excited for it!
Out of all the other HRIS systems I have used, I spend way less time doing my job with Paylocity. Paycom has so many pages to weed through to do anything or find information, Paychex Flex was underwhelming at best, and ADP Workforce Now had too many segmented features that it was hard to remember which section you had to go to next to set up an employee or make changes. Not to mention, customer support was hit or miss.
