Overall Satisfaction with Procore

General contractor - commercial, agri-business, fabric, multi-family housing, senior living facilities. Using Procore streamlines the data and technology process from the office in communicating with the field. Real-time plans and updates are available at users' fingertips. Bidding, subcontracts, financial, and other tools are used daily. Historical data uses allows for more accurate information on bid history as well as inclusiveness for users.
Procore helps solves issues of keeping items current, tracking budgets, streamlining subcontracts, as well its versatility on so many fronts. Procore may come with a learning curve, but it's well worth it. The robust program offers so many different tools, even if we don't use them all right now, we may transition and restructure our standard operating procedures to adapt to the capabilities of the program.
  • Bidding tool - once the database of companies is built, mass communication and ease of bidding, tracking, and updating plans is a breeze.
  • Submittals/Drawings - keeping up to date on all the selections, plans, and other various aspects of a job [are] made simple with the use of these tools. Having all the information in one place and standardizing items with templates made the repetitive nature of some parts much easier.
  • Photos/Daily Log - easy way to keep track of a job especially when we are working all around the company. We can track the progress with the updates and can easily see and access photos with any issues that come up.
  • Mobile App - As the PM or APM on a project, there should be more available on the mobile app, specifically for these roles. I do not want to overwhelm the field crews/subs, but as the manager, it would be nice to have more mobile-friendly functions.
  • More explanations for when Procore is upset or not reading a document correctly - in budgets, why items turn red, or different views, or importing documents, would like to know WHY/WHAT was incorrect so it can be addressed.
  • [In] the beginning, there was a lot of time put in to enter all of our subcontractors. There are hundreds. But it does save time in the end when bidding and selecting from lists and already having the contact information there - As long as it was entered correctly, and their trades added.
ERP, SAGE
It has been helpful for accounting and as of lately streamlining subcontracts. Real-time job costing and budgets have been helpful for maintaining an understanding of where a job is [financial]. There are a lot of other financial capabilities of Procore that I don't think Greystone has been using or implementing on a regular basis at this time.
Assuming all the field crews use the daily logs and the PMs look into them, it's great. At the moment, it's not used DAILY by the office, but for the field to be recording what is happening, it gives good data for if we look back on a certain day/timeframe to see what was going on if an issue or question would come up.
Procore seems much more professional - as well it should be for the cost. I won't get into the woes of Buildertrend, but while learning Procore was very intimidating, and recalling the steps, I think using the tools daily definitely helps get the hang of it. Having a team that supports the users is an amazing resource as well. The Procore community/CLUB is just that; users are proud of the program and are using the wonderful resources to better their understanding of the product while promoting it and giving feedback.
Procore is well suited for larger, more robust jobs. If it's just a small one, there is way too much information on the front end that needs to be put in for something that is simple. The amount of steps for job setup is a lot, but worth it on the larger jobs. I have a hard time convincing the team to use procure for bidding if we are only looking for a couple of subs - as an example.
