Overall Satisfaction with Quick Base

We have a few apps and integrations. We use QuickBase to manage case orders, billing, and quotes/invoices. We also use it to manage pricing and customer profiles and histories. We have a CRM app that links to our case management app, so we have a really good map of our business. We also sync data with Google Data Studio to get better reports and analytics.
  • Reports load very quickly
  • Relational database logic
  • Ease of integration with 3rd-party apps
  • Form builder UX is outdated.
  • Reports are fairly static. Real-time edits on reports would make more competitive to Google Data Studio.
  • "Live" updates to data would make more competitive to Google Sheets.
Our company has definitely benefited from the ability to rapidly build and deploy apps for specific needs. There is some issue when people who want more control over the system can't get it due to aspects of over-simplification, but I wouldn't know how to quantify that exactly. It achieves the low-code app-builder functionality well.
QuickBase is more versatile but less polished. My users really like "pretty" and "fast" user interfaces with live updates, which Google Sheets can provide. Google Sheets is my primary competitor internally vs. QuickBase due to the live updates. QuickBase does not really work well for projects or status pages, in my opinion.
  • Building and deploying business applications faster
  • Improving our ability to drive insights from our data
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
Overall we really enjoy using QuickBase, it is intuitive and a powerful entry point for digitizing workflows and processes that were otherwise manual and slow. It is powerful in the way it integrates with 3rd-party applications like Zapier, and with QuickBase Pipelines I anticipate even more integration between 3rd-party apps.
I built and maintain all of our QuickBase applications, and it usually goes really well. I start by mapping out the goal on a piece of paper and spend most of my time planning and considering how it connects with the rest of our apps. Then I program a piece at a time.
It depends on the use-case scenario. QuickBase doesn't solve all problems, and there is still a learning curve. There are a lot of clicks required to do most actions and navigate most forms, which turns a lot of people off. It's geared towards the power user and may not be suitable for everyone. That being said, I get a lot of benefit out of it and would recommend to people who would take the time to learn.
