Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
It is our accounting system, we use the general ledger, accounts payable, order entry and accounts receivable [modules].
Pros
- Use of dimensions allows for more meaningful financial statements.
- The learning curve on using Intacct is short.
- The dashboards are easy to set up and easy for users to use to access their financial information.
Cons
- Report writing is time-consuming.
- There is no general ledger report which has the account numbers in the body of the report in order to use the general ledger data in a table format.
- Column widths on standard reports are not adjustable.
- Formulas don't come over with reports into Excel.
- I think it's very expensive for a non-profit to use when you compare it to QuickBooks. I wouldn't recommend a small to mid-size company change unless QuickBooks really won't work anymore.
The automated inter-company transaction tracking has helped us quite a bit. Other than that, I haven't implemented any automation.
As a smallish non-profit ($12 million revenue), we have limited accounting resources so there isn't a lot of time or money for researching and implementing new automation. I had to stop using my implementation partner because it was too expensive.

Only use the intercompany portion and it's automatic.
