Overall Satisfaction with ScienceLogic

We use ScienceLogic to monitor, alert and report on the company-wide network, which consists of standard networking equipment, such as routers, switches firewalls, and all wireless components. We also use it to monitor customer networks, including monitoring devices, alerting on outages, alerting on specific thresholds and regular reporting on their networks.
  • Multi-tenancy. Monitoring multiple customer networks with tight controls to restrict all customer to customer connectivity and eliminate issues with addressing overlap.
  • Visual dashboards. Highly customizable for dashboards, wall monitors etc.
  • Highly customizable alerting, including escalation.
  • GUI is very complicated.
  • Upgrading can be complicated if there are any issues.
  • Dependent on Java for dashboard visuals.
  • Very expensive.
  • Training requirements.
  • Highly appreciated when considering the monitoring results, reporting benefits and alerting flexibility.
Yes - WhatsUp Gold. Needed multi-tenancy and more robust monitoring, alerting and reporting.
Yes, with the many monitoring protocols and plugin add-ons, the monitoring can drill down to extreme levels of detail. Very powerful.
Aiming to provide very high-quality monitoring, alerting, visibility and reporting to customers to drive business growth.
Several processes are automated to monitor and collect data for inclusion into reporting and allow for fewer hands-on and more output.
  • Nothing beyond published usage at this time.
With the exception of NetFlow monitoring by Scrutinizer, ScienceLogic has far more capabilities than the other evaluated products, including what has been previously discussed in this survey.
Well suited if the organization has a dedicated monitoring team and sufficient training for the team or individual/individuals. Less appropriate for organizations with limited knowledge or time to run the monitoring environment. Also less appropriate if only monitoring a single network or a small number of network devices and endpoints.
