Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

TriNet service team is generally very responsive, but they are limited in how much they can actually do by TriNet's other back-office teams (IT, ACA, risk) that own these products and processes. Additionally, many times we ask for information and are told how to find it ourselves. A better service delivery would be to provide the information along with instructions for future self-service. When we ask for a report, we generally need it right away and because of the lack of consolidated reporting, we have to do everything 5x (for our 5 commonly owned companies.) Lastly, TriNet touts its strength as a compliance partner, but I have found that TriNet likes to blast out an email on a topic and point you to your service team, who then generally has no idea how to answer specific questions or provides a cut and paste answer.
TriNet is used across the organization. Its purpose for our organization is employee onboarding, payroll, time and attendance, and 401k.
  • Service team relationship
  • No consolidation of data/reporting for commonly owned companies
  • Lack of customization
  • System is not intuitive, employees have difficulty navigating and finding what they need
  • The time and attendance solution has always been poor
  • Access to compliance information
  • ACA measurement & stablity
  • 401k
Evaluation was done 4 years ago. TriNet was a significant improvement over Oasis in terms of technology, self-service, and service team responsiveness. Benefit options were improved from Oasis options and costs were initially better.

TriNet seems to perform well for small-mid sized companies with less sophisticated HR needs.

TriNet is not well suited for companies with a large hourly workforce that does not have easy access to technology. TriNet does not perform well for larger companies that require more customization. There is no ability to consolidate data/reporting for commonly owned companies.

Prior to [our] medical carve out, TriNet solution was a better fit for our needs. Now that we are on outside medical plans, TriNet's system does not fit our needs. Additionally, there are other systems on the market that have a better user interface, better onboarding processes, and allow commonly owned companies to consolidate reporting.
