Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

We used TriNet for our 49 employees in the US; we would like to use it in the whole organization but TriNet doesn't support other countries, and we have employees in 5 different countries that use different software. We use TriNet for all HR/finance-related tasks like benefits, payroll, tracking PTO, and to e-verify.
  • It offers HR guidance, so we can ask questions about new legislation.
  • We got help with benefit elections with an on-site presentation.
  • Their "build your own report" doesn't work well. There are tons of bugs in their created reports that are wrong in several levels
  • You can't use "sick days" only for people that have them available; you will have to check manually that they still have sick days left or not use that label at all
It's hit or miss. We've had mostly good experiences, but during busy times (like benefit elections) it's hard to get a hold on them. We have specific people to reach out to, and one of them basically told me "politely" that I didn't know how to read a report. When I pointed out the report was not right, she said I should use the report in another page... I told her I would like to be able to use all the tools available and she didn't care. Instead of reporting the bug she just pretended she had given me a solution by telling me not to use a feature in the platform.
We have been using TriNet for about 4 years, and we've had to deal with some headaches every once in a while, but we have overcome all the difficulties. We have a good relationship with the person that works with us closely. We are not shopping around for other software because TriNet has been helpful overall.
  • HR compliance is the biggest impact for our company.
TriNet works for medium companies, where you don't want to spend a ton of time with benefit elections and other HR tasks. There are so many competitors out there that I would find it hard to recommend them, but they do have more support than most of those companies that only offer software and nothing else, like legal advice
