Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro

We implemented UltiPRO on the 1st payroll of 3rd quarter 2015. We are currently using the Payroll, Time Management and the HR modules, however we have purchased the full package and plan to implement the Open Enrollment in early 2016 and the Performance Module in 2016. We have only 3 employees within the HR/Payroll department so we are limited as to what we can implement at a time to make sure that everything is working/set-up correctly. The whole company has access to the system, and the employee experience has been great. The employees have access at any time to submit time-off request, view their information and update personal data as needed.
  • The employee experience with UltiPro is fantastic. Less data entry for the HR department and employees have access to their information at all times.
  • The payroll module is very smooth - payroll on our prior system took over 2 days to process, we now can process payroll for around 500 employee's in about 6 hours. The process is well documented and runs effortlessly.
  • Customer service is the best in the business. I have worked with many payroll systems for more years that I want to admit and UltiPro has the best customer service that I have ever experienced.
  • Setting up new domains for employment taxes is not available for the user to update. This should be a collaborative effort.
  • Checks/Direct Deposit notices are printed in a certain format - we don't have room on the checks to provide more detailed information to our employees - they need to log onto the system to see all of their benefits/deductions.
UltiPro's customer service and Reporting was key in the decision.
I have worked in multiple industries, both public, private and education - UltiPro would work well for all scenarios.

Evaluating UltiPro and Competitors

Yes - ADP - very poor customer service, sales force never contacted us after we originally purchased it in 2013. So we were on ADP only 2 years and found it very lacking.

I wouldn't change the process at all.

UltiPro Implementation

I would never do an implementation alone again!!! You need a team to be effective.
Yes - We initiated the HR, Time Management and Payroll modules in July 2015. I was the only member of the implementation team for the company so it was a bit stressful. I don't recommend it! The implementation team was great and helped with this transition probably more than most teams as it was such a big project.
Next phases of implementation will be taken on in 2016.
Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled - Had lots of difficulty with former HR/Payroll system - getting them to assist with reporting requirements and such. Finally escalated the requests - then got results.

Gives customer access to all training - and it can be done multiple times if needed. Employees are given quick tours to view and see how things can be done in the Employee Self-Service
Implementation team member went through the tax module with me as our company is in multiple states and wasn't set-up correctly in the prior HRIS system

Configuring UltiPro

I believe that there should be more understanding about the previous payroll system nuances and what UltiPro offers. This is not a comment on Ultipro's capability. I just ran into some issues that were created because the prior payroll system didn't set up payroll correctly/legally. Also the Configuration for some of the benefits seemed a bit overdone at the time, but in looking at the system now it makes perfect sense.

Yes - I reported a bug during W-2 processing more than 5 years ago - the team worked night and day to fix this issue - and gave me continuous updates as to their progress. As I was the first customer to process the W-2's it was fixed for me as well as all the other customers in the quick and timely manner.

UltiPro Reliability

Integrating UltiPro

We did have some difficulty with integration, but that was because ADP was not easy to adapt to UltiPro and I was a 'one-man' band trying to do the implementation for my company. I would strongly suggest several employee's work on the implementation, so the little things don't fall through the cracks.

Relationship with Ultimate Software

Easy to talk to about issues and concerns during this process and the sales force continues to follow-up to make sure that our company is satisfied and happy with the software.
