Overall Satisfaction with Zoom

We use it to provide technical support to our customer base by remotely connecting to their systems.
  • Easy to schedule online meetings particularly from within Outlook.
  • Easy to invite additional people into the meeting.
  • Integrated audio connection with the ability to dial in to the meeting if no access to the PC
  • Can also use the mobile app to view and control remote systems.
  • The most important limitation is the inability to reconnect to the remote system after a reboot of the remote system.
  • Control access has to be approved by the user on the remote system sharing the screen when multiple users are joined.
  • Sometimes the mouse control lags severely and the sessions have to be restarted.
  • Provides reliable and quick connections to remote customers helping resolve the issues quickly.
  • Easy for the customers to quickly launch the application and join the meeting for remote support.
  • Single sign-on option for the team helps in maintaining the subscription.
We have not used Zoom Rooms yet. Normally we schedule the meetings providing all the that users with the meeting link invite and start the sessions. Not sure if this is called the Zoom Room.
Zoom is definitely better than Skype. It stacks very well with TeamViewer and LogMeIn Rescue when it comes to actual online meeting and controlling the remote systems. It is better than TeamViewer as it does not require any purchase or full application installation by the customer to be supported. However, compared to TeamViewer and LogMeIn Rescue it falls shorts when it comes to reconnection after rebooting remote systems. It also has an advantage in scheduling meeting through the plugin in Outlook. However, when multiple users are in a meeting and would like to control the screen that is being shared then the screen user has to approve the control each time which is cumbersome.
Zoom is particularly well suited to schedule online multi-user meetings involving screen sharing and controlling remote systems. The ability to schedule it from Outlook makes it very convenient to use. It, however, is inconvenient when rebooting the remote system is necessary. In such cases, the remote connection has to be re-initiated which is sometimes very problematic.
