Acquisio

Acquisio is ideal for marketing agencies, especially those that focus on serving a specific market. If your Agency has access to client data, depending on the data, Acquisio's software could be a powerful way to deliver that data in the form of online ads. Acquisio might be too powerful for a small business looking to manage campaigns in-house.

A good place for Brightroll is for clients that are seeking efficient pricing. Their access to the exchanges is key to getting the most reach for big brands. I wish Brightroll had asked more questions about my campaign and my targeting and helped me understand why certain metrics were how they were and how to improve in the future. I would have wished that my contact there had given me mid-campaign check ins, instead of once when the initial offer was signed and once when the campaign was over.

Pros

  • Acquisio does so many things to deserve praise. But where they excel above all others is in customer service. Everyone, and I mean everyone, from Client Service representative to the developers to the CEO, demonstrates that they value the relationship with their customers above all else. And that feels awesome.
  • Acquisio is focused on automation, scalability, and systematic performance improvement.
  • Acquisio's campaign cloner allows us to set up a campaign once and not only duplicate it from AdWords to Bing but sync the two, as well. This is a huge time saver and obviously also helps us to maintain consistency across the two publishers.

Cons

  • Lack of ability to manage social media ads
  • Somewhat limited number of visualizations in reports
  • Slow to add new features and respond to changes in platforms

  • Site List Transparency - we weren't too thrilled that our site list was only partial
  • Performance was less than desired - our client wanted to see better click through rates and video completion rates

I think the platform, with the latest release updates has a lot of great potential. The main decision, currently, is price and how that gets passed on to our clients. There has to be a conscious decision made on platform cost vs client spend and overall budget vs revenue.

My experience with Acquisio is a tale of two situations. We had a customer service rep named Jeannie who was supernaturally gifted at anticipating and solving our issues. Her response time was so fast it felt like she was responding before I even hit SEND on our emails. Jeannie was deservedly promoted and support has been a little slower and we have had to make multiple requests to get answers since.

Any good media person would have a mix on their plan and Brightroll was the "reach" portion. Unfortunately, despite the efficient pricing, the overall performance of the campaign was less than desired. Too cheap, perhaps?
