There are pros and cons to both systems. Where ActiveCampaign lacks in sales Pipedrive does not, but where Pipedrive lacks in Marketing ActiveCampaign does not. Both systems can complement each other for a powerful combination.
The fact that it combines email, CRM, and automations between them makes it such a force to be reconned with. Its plans are reasonable and moving up from a basic plan allows 25 users for one price. This is great compared to Hubspot. It's much smoother than Mailchimp and much …

Chose ActiveCampaign
I chose ActiveCampaign over Mailchimp for the simple fact that ActiveCampaign has a better interface and an easier-to-read dashboard for reporting. I also chose ActiveCampaign because of its ease of implementation for new clients that want to use email for their own businesses …

Pipedrive is extremely lightweight, but extremely powerful as you get deeper into it. My 61 year old father will use it, when he won't even use email on desktop. Pipedrive is inexpensive and easy to adopt. It's also easy to adapt, adding custom fields, deal stages, and other …

Chose Pipedrive
Pipedrive is a mature product that is feature-rich, but simple. It can be used as minimally as possible and is still a fantastic contact manager. But it is robust, and can really automate a lot of the sales process if used correctly.
