Smaller less technically staffed companies should avoid it. For mid-size companies with a serious need for a email solution, it might be worth considering if the staff involved in using the product isn't afraid of technically looking stuff. The staff that runs the servers (if it's on-premises deployment) needs to be fairly technical, and willing to dig into issues and errors that will arise.

Sage CRM

Sage CRM is well suited horizontally across the business marketplace. The product is easy to install, works across all browsers and mobile devices, and is easily configurable and customizable in a way that is upgrade safe. In particular, Sage CRM is a great system for emerging businesses that are growing quickly as the system can be configured quickly for a team of people and scales to hundreds of users easily. Lastly, Sage CRM integrates quite well with other systems and there are many examples of significant ERP integration (especially Sage ERP products) that would be costly using other CRM technologies.

  • Integration to our accounting system allowing sales to view accounting info and accounting to view sales info.
  • Integration to other applications. We have been able to integrate CRM to our marketing and support apps to create a 360 view of information about our customers in one place.
  • Workflow. CRM has allowed us to create workflow around our key business processes.
  • Reporting and Dashboards. CRM has great reporting and dashboard capabilities giving us visibility into performance quickly and efficiently.

Cons

  • I wish it was more straightforward, I have trouble syncing it with my google drive and my Adobe Cloud.
  • I wish there was a better tutorial that really elaborates on all the unique tools so that users don't miss out on any major features - it's also hard to teach someone else the program, so this would be useful for new employees.
  • I wish they would bring back the one-time fee they used to over vs. the monthly subscription - especially when you need it outside of work or it's not available at your job.

  • When compared to other products such as Salesforce it doesn't compare.
  • Sage CRM doesn't have the extensive app store that other CRM products have.
  • Implementing the on-premise version can be difficult depending on the host database.

We feel that Neolane really adds value to our organization and has allowed marketing to progress - storing databases more efficiently, sharing campaigns across the world, pushing leads directly into our CRM system. We are very invested in the tool since we took a good bit of time to customize it, so I anticipate we will renew our use.

Sage works very quickly based on the network you are using it on. It is internet based so if your network is slow, it will perform slowly. Reports seem to run reasonably fast, if there is too much information it is trying to populate that could slow it down a little. When Sage CRM is integrated with a Sage ERP product it doesn't tend to slow down either system at all

I would say that generally the knowledge of the support team we work with is good, great even.I can't say that they seem to be very interested or involved in trying to make the product work best for us.They do what needs to be done, and they do it well - but not really going the extra mile.

The implementation and upgrades were rather quick and straight forward.Attempting to link Sage CRM with Sage 100 ERP however was a nightmare and will be avoided by us in the future due to numerous issues.

Alternatives Considered

Because it's pricey, I've played around with cheaper alternatives when I didn't have access to it through work, such as Infusionsoft, ONTRAPORT & Pardot Marketing Automation. I found that all of them lacked the consistency and tools I needed to create strong results and as constantly comparing it to Adobe Campaign. The information was slightly off also and not as accurate.

I have a preference for Salesforce.com because of the app exchange that they have. Sage CRM is more on par with Oracle CRM and NetSuite CRM+. Oracle CRM is the most similar with the dual options of on-premise and cloud based solutions. I am mostly working with Salesforce.com clients presently.
