In all honestly I don’t know a situation where Ceridian Powerpay would not be appropriate to use. I have used it at a company with 12 employees, and at a company with 100 employees. The system works great regardless of company size and the benefits significantly outweigh any (if any) negatives.
I only have experience with the system in the hospitality industry but it covered all our needs and more that I can only imagine that would apply to other industries as well.
Its tough to say. Would I recommend it to a company of our size, no. Would I recommend it to a small business, maybe 10 - 50 employees, yes. Theres no workflow. We can have managers initiate a change it has to be done by us... manually... *yawn*
Ceridian Powerpay simplifies the payroll process, very little manual work involved during each payroll run.
Ceridian Powerpay is mostly an intuitive interface with easy to understand workflows to allow for multiple users to be able to use the system if required.
They over bill you for everything and ignore cancellation requests
They don't listen to what you need or want, they slip in cancellation clauses and charge you for inactive employees throughout the year.
They leave one person in charge of your account and should that person go on leave you are stuck waiting until that person gets back (including personal leaves that lasted 2 months)
System can be challenging to navigate for employees with multiple nav options on left and upper areas or subjects are not easily related to what is in their mind; multiple handbooks and similar
Customer service has improved in the last year but there is still room for improvement. Some tickets/cases simply take way too long with little communication while open. Best improvement is putting more power in the hands of the front line.
The only reason this is not a 10 is that the PEO market is very competitive and as the President of the company I feel obligated to listen to other options. That being said, it will be very difficult for anyone to unseat TriNet as I ma veery pleased with them
Compared to other PEOs we have used, the TriNet platform is both powerful and user friendly. Both the employee and admin views are extremely easy to navigate and, with the exception of time off tracking, we only hear positive feedback from employees. Overall, it is a solid and versatile platform.
They used to be really good at this when I had a dedicated person. Now that it's a general customer service account, it's really gone downhill and I don't get responses at all sometimes
Generally, Ceridian Powerpay support is strong, with the edge given to the telephone staff, which is prompt and always helpful. When I have had to reach out via telephone, I am greeted quickly and provided with a quick resolution to my issue. The email support leaves a bit to be desired, though, as my experience with change requests result in long waits for confirmation and completion, with some instances not even being given a resolution to an issue without requiring additional follow-up. I shouldn’t have to stay on top of the support in addition to providing the details needed, and it should just get done.
We don't need to use the Customer Service features often, but when we do, the team is quick to respond and very knowledgeable about our needs. Once again, making our time in the system minimal allows us to focus on growing our business.
it's been awhile, but I recall them being helpful. I got through a lot of it and when I needed help, they can walk me through it over the phone. It's also pretty user friendly in general at a platform. I don't really know what else to type, but they came and helped me in person and also when there was something new, they came and talked to me. They have not done that since with the new model that I hate
it was good, but now I haven't done much and since they changed their model, it's a lot harder to deal with. We're talking online training of the trinet platform and not the online training they provide, right? Their online training is ok, and is unfortunate that there is a totally separate model for training that costs extra when we would only watch one or two things. However, the mandatory sexual harassment training is actually pretty good, it was just a little clunky
not applicable as I implementation was done 5 years ago and have no recollection of the details of the process. Above it says to skip question if not involved in the process but it will not allow me to skip it as it states explanation requitred thus making this process extremely frustrating.
TriNet worked with our smaller employee headcount and offered coverage for both the US and Canada. And we switched from Insperity because of the cost savings which were significant. I liked Insperity but TriNet has been an excellent firm to work with as well.
The return on investment has been substantial for our company. Having a payroll system that calculates everything for you, processes important documents, and only takes minimal time and effort allows us to focus more time on running the business and generating revenue.
Instead of having a user spend half a day (or potentially a full day) processing payroll, it only takes a couple hours (obviously depending on how many employees need to be processed).
TriNet offers many benefit plans to our employees which are spread out across the country. A wide variety of offerings allows our employees more choices to make the best decision for their family.
TriNet does not offer help with our EEO reporting for our Veteran status. They may in the future be able to update the platform, but currently, this data is not a required question for the employees and it isn't possible for us to make it a required question when the employees log in.
We have worked through our initial problems with payroll processing and are now much more efficient. Having a great team of people to work with at TriNet has made all the difference!
