Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

we primarily use TriNet for payroll, benefits and retirement (401k). it is also our ATS and HIRS. Its great to have a 1 stop shop for everything. The platform isn't as in-depth as we would sometimes like but we work around that. As an example we have to have custom reports built for us rather than us having the ability to log in and create them ourselves.

Overall the support is great but there are some areas we don't use because we have the service in-house
  • state final pay compliance - we have employees in every state and it is nice to be able to rely on the fact that we are always compliant when people leave
  • Leave administration - I love not having to manage employees leaves
  • VOE - I love that we could give away VOE's. Simply scan and send to TriNet
  • a better ATS - the current functionality is very limited. For an organization our size we more "power". I like to be able to run custom reports from the ATS as an example
  • Reporting - there's a stack of standard reports but we need and want custom
  • stop changing the layout. We don't care about the layout its the content that matters. get rid of the turtles or hippos or whatever they are
  • Manager access. Let us give managers access to their employees info without having access to EVERYONE
  • Be honest. If you cant do something, you cant do it. Let us know so we can make other plans and move on
  • "I'll put a ticket in" = this is where your dreams go to fade away. See above
again tough to say.

Our account manager - 10
most others - 6
Benefits - 5
HR support - 2 (the joke in my team is "why ask, he's just going to say "do this and then check with your legal dept.") If we have to do our own research why do we need you. Like I said, great for smaller companies that don't have an HR team.

There is almost an attitude of "we are TriNet, this is how we do it, deal with it. You're in our platform now". Every client may have different needs and TriNet needs to be able to adapt to them. The new role of strong HR teams is business partners - TriNet struggles with this and seems to be stuck in old "tell you what to do", plan the Christmas party and buy cake once a month for birthdays. Its timer to move forward!
its easy enough to use if you can find where things were moved
  • this is a hard question. Open enrollment is nice. its great that we don't have to touch it and usually goes very smoothly
we came on in 2021 so it didn't really impact the pandemic

Do you think TriNet delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with TriNet's feature set?

No

Did TriNet live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of TriNet go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy TriNet again?

No

its not the same model. If you want to put TriNet's HRIS up against an actual HRIS you will lose every time.
Its tough to say. Would I recommend it to a company of our size, no. Would I recommend it to a small business, maybe 10 - 50 employees, yes.

Theres no workflow. We can have managers initiate a change it has to be done by us... manually... *yawn*
