Demandbase is best for marketers with large target account lists who want to scale personalized marketing efforts. Demandbase's functionality is lost on small account lists. It is also a great tool for sales and marketing teams who are just starting to build their target account list or who are refreshing their list. It's AI is good for putting some intent data behind the selection process.

The platform provides marketers with transactional as well as behavioral visitor data which is important in segmenting lists and sending more relevant marketing campaigns, therefore it plays a pivotal role in marketing.   • Data integration with Google Analytics is great. It gives us additional data points to segment and analyze.
  • The forms module decreases the number of form fields we need to ask our prospects but also passes more firmographic information behind the scenes.
  • Demandbase Content gives us great flexibility to use along with Optimizely to run split test messaging to different industries.

  • Easy UX: The entire platform is very visual. It's easy to navigate, understand, and use. It's really well designed, and it helps business owners understand the set up / steps in the email marketing automation.
  • Visual flow-building: This allows us to automate pieces of our client's business. For example, create a map of a series of emails that automatically follow-up with people who abandon carts in our client's store, indicating how many emails, when they go out, who sees them, and split test emails against one another in this format.
  • Individual email building: Klaviyo makes it easy for us to design client emails with an easy builder or with HTML code. Klaviyo allows you to set up saved blocks to make your building experience more efficient as well.
  • Measurement: Klaviyo makes it easy for users to see campaigns and which ones create greater click-through, open rate, conversion $ and more. You can also watch where people open the emails around the world with a map, or see which users opened particular emails.
  • Individual user tracking: It's so helpful to see customer journeys throughout the entire process. You can see individual profiles and how often they visited a site, opened an email, made a purchase, how much that purchase was worth, etc.
  • Integrations - pretty easy to use with multiple commerce sites, but ideal for Shopify. Easily integrates with other software.
  • Automation - There are built-in templates and flows created inside of the platform. Even a novice could implement something basic and see results in their business. (better if they are customized)

  • This technology only works for visits emerging from large enterprises. If the visitor is accessing your website from outside of his/her company network (e.g. working from home and using an ISP) then you can not identify those visits. Also, if there is IP-spoofing used by some large/mid-size corporations then you can get falsified data.
  • Same logic holds for small or micro businesses where the business uses an ISP (internet service provider such as Comcast or AT&T) to browse your website then those visits can not be mapped back to a particular small/micro business.

  • It is a bit technical to use I face some difficulty in the beginning so I think more training videos must be provided.
  • Further, the pricing is very high not every organization can afford but it has all those features which will definitely help them so I request to negotiate on it.

Klaviyo is simply a great solution for e-com email marketing & customer relationship management:
  1. User journey visibility: We can see our clients' customers on their individual user journeys (open email, site visits) to better understand and accommodate your customers.
  2. Flow automation: Creating automated emails that follow up with new leads, those who abandoned carts, purchased.
  3. Email design: So easy to use, and more friendly than some other visual builders that we've used.
  4. Metrics visibility: We can see our clients' metrics very easily and adjust efforts accordingly.

Demandbase does have a learning curve, but once you get into it, the platform becomes very easy to use overall. I had a couple of sessions with our reps to have training sessions. After I was established, the only time I need help is with updates to the platform.

It's a decent platform with a user friendly interface, however it massively misses trust due to unsecured systems and support from customer service; support is a massive problem if you run a company and have a problem with the service that you can't fix. On the other side of the line, in our experience, there is no support or understanding which we haven't encountered with any other company we have done business online in the last decade.

I don't deal a whole lot with the customer support, focused more on the use of it but from my experience, it's been fine. They've replied to my issues in a timely manner, never more than a day. The advertising team might be another story but I can't speak directly to that.

Demandbase

ZoomInfo has begun to offer similar tools but also provided data purchasing. Demandbase is much more focused on intent-based marketing and advertising than ZoomInfo. I do not believe that the two products fit the same niche entirely, but it appears that intent-based information is becoming more popular. I'm not sure how this will be impacted by new online privacy standards, so that is something to look out for.

We moved from Bronto to Klaviyo because Bronto was getting very expensive. Klaviyo was the cheaper alternative with it's drawbacks of course. Klaviyo does have a nice drag and drop editor that Bronto was only working on when we left. Klaviyo does also offer mobile optimization that Bronto was working on improving when we left as well. Klaviyo does have limitations in that its ability to integrate custom HTML does not work well. We used to completely customize whole emails in Bronto using strictly code. Bronto also didn't have the gmail clipping issue that we found Klaviyo to have - my biggest pet peeve.

  • Because of the segmentation available in Klaviyo, we typically target our most profitable customers and often bring in $10k+ per email send for a medium sized company.
