Odoo
For small businesses and small teams, Odoo CRM is fine. It has the basics, and it is functional. But as the teams grow, processes become more complex, and reporting needs to be accurate, you will have to either allocate a budget to an Odoo partner or hire a Python developer internally. Sales-led organizations with larger teams will find poor reporting a deal-breaker. You can't do standard reporting that you find in HubSpot or Salesforce. So you end up doing a lot of customization or manual work to get the reports you need.

SAP
SAP Sales Cloud is highly suited for manufacturing and distribution enterprises and especially for people and companies who are already into SAP architecture. It is also great for industries which are consumer-packaged goods oriented, and it is highly structured for B2B sales which has predictive pipelines. I would say it is less suited for hyper growth or newer startups, especially people who are not familiar with the SAP ERP. It is multi-dimensional and has complex matrix structures, so it is a bit difficult to learn, and it might be daunting for new people.

Odoo
  • Generating quotations partiuclarly for the ease of data amendment so that products can be added on the fly and names can be amended per quote to suit
  • The contact tagging feature is a fantastic way of grouping customers/leads into industry specific groups for targetting specific areas seperately
  • Very versatile customer pricelist function for ensuring discount structures are accurately calculated

  • I love its ability to automate the entire sales process for us.
  • Another thing I love is how it combines data from different touchpoints to provide a 360-degree view of the customer.
  • What I like best about SAP Sales Cloud is the real-time analytics it provides for my organization.

Cons
Odoo
  • UI can be improved
  • The lead view can be better since we have to scroll a lot.
  • The server is down or technical glitches are happening . We have seen distance in lead count

  • One area of concern is the many data silos that are present within SAP sales cloud
  • While creating filters for accessing sales lead reports, the accuracy is missing sometimes.
  • The product is quite vast and a lot more learning material and knowledge base documents are required.

SAP sales enables organizations to manage their sales activities, such as inquiries, quotations, orders, deliveries, billing, and payments. Also integrates with other SAP modules, such as finance, logistics, and marketing, to provide a comprehensive solution for managing the entire sales cycle. thats makes SAP a good choice

Usability
Odoo
Odoo CRM is usable and has a lot of features, so it gives us the basics we need to run a successful business. The problem is, it requires a lot of time and money to customize it and run it smoothly. Plus, Odoo support can be pretty bad. For every 1 good support agent, there are 9 that don't pay attention. We have an internal running joke that ChatGPT is more helpful than Odoo support when they first reply. Once we get to product experts, they usually know what they are talking about. But the first-level support agents, you have to push them and re-explain things to get them to understand and hopefully escalate. Plus, they always miss SLA response times, blaming it on a busy period. Usually takes a week for the first reply. You can get live chat sometimes, but 9 out of 10 times, they will ask you to create a support ticket. Then you wait.

Product was mostly available. A couple accessibility issues did exist when sending API calls, and there was either no response, or a delayed response.

Support Rating
Odoo
This was a bit of a sticking point, we find the support can be lacking and generally its recommended to spurchase a support pack of hours in order to benefit from full support. We have subsequently gone on to do a lot of the implementation and training by ourselves following lots of trial and error so although things are working now, it was initialy a bumpy road implementing!

SAP's customer service is quick and efficient, with a response time of fewer than some minutes. In either case, you'll get instant help from the vendor or online forums. In addition, the vendor provides excellent global support for this tool. Like Salesforce, SugarCRM, etc., it's probably fine as a standalone CRM option.

I would rate the implementation a 7. While the process overall was successful, there were challenges related to data migration, integration with other systems, and initial user adoption. However, the support from SAP during the implementation phase was helpful, and we were able to resolve the major issues as the process progressed.

These other products are not fully focused on sales. Of course you can create a workflow for your employees but they have too much info that youll probably won't end Up using. Also their AI assistance is not that accurate when you need some advice or personalized Insights. That's why we swapped to another software that was focused on the sales funnel.

Return on Investment
Odoo
  • We're managing millions of dollars in sales orders.
  • 20-30% of time can be spent on fixing or dealing with issues, partially because of Odoo.sh hosting platform limitations.
  • Odoo CRM does allow us to do what we need to run a successful business; it's just 5 years behind HubSpot and Salesforce.
