Arena has been great fit for our growing company
At the time, our only customer was General Motors and they used Siemens TeamCenter. As a result, we considered implementation of that application. Ultimately, the cost of Arena, the ease of implementation, and cloud-based solution were the factors that guided our decision to choose Arena.

Arena is a powerful tool for our business
Agile. Parts & Vendors.
Agile is more complete, but also less flexible. I think that Arena completely beats it interms of the user experience.
Parts and Vendors is old, unsupported and has a VERY limited functionality in comparison.

Arena is all you need!
I've used Agile PLM, TeamCenter PLM, and SAP PLM. If I was starting a company, I would pick Arena over all of them.

Relatively New Arena User's Experience
I'm not aware of similar products, but I do use simpler versioning products, Dropbox and SVN. They are vastly easier to use, but lack a lot of the features provided by Arena. It's not a fair comparison.

Wonderful
I have had experience with MasterControl and Agile. Arena has the same important features/necessities that the other products provide, but at a better cost with the current organization structure.

Arena - a hassle free database and workflow tool
Having worked previously with Windchill, I found Arena to be far more intuitive and easy to use, needing much less customization. Though the use of Windchill was at a much larger company, Arena was clear and flexible and able to meet our needs with only a fraction of the time needed for mere introduction of Windchill to its large user base.

Arena fan
Arena is much easier to use and has never crashed. Arena is appropriate for broad deployment to everyone in the company where MasterControl was not. MasterControl at the time had zero BoM control capabilities. Not sure where they are now.

Only looked at Arena because of the number of employees with prior experience. However, other people in the office have said that it is way easier to use than others.

Arena, it does more than I need.
The arena user interface is much better, although I think Windchill may be a little better at change management or at least visualizing it. Also, Windchill can create PDFs of our mechanical drawings on their release so it is critical for our ME team.

Arena PLM is da BOM
Oracle Agile is the only other product I can recall, since our implementation was over six years ago. I only remember that based on price alone, Oracle's product was not a serious contender for us. I had experience with Agile at a previous company (before it was purchased by Oracle) and at that time it was well-suited to our needs.

Small company review of Arena
I've not used any other system except a customized intranet in my last company. It worked well for what I needed. I wasn't aware of any issues. When I was looking for a solution for my current company, I wanted to find something that would work like a company intranet.

Arena Sets Me Free!
We did not use a major application. When I first started, our product lines were originally based on linked spreadsheets, then we transitioned to a private party application called "Product Library". I made my recommendations as loudly and often as decorum would permit!
